Lucky pov
It was like dancing. Every night he would suddenly appear and we would share a short moment, before he would have to leave again. We had been doing it for almost two weeks, and I had reached a point where I wouldn't call it a night before I had seen him. He made even the lonely and boring nights seem worth it.
I was preparing to go out on patrol with the others. It was Friday, which typically was a busy night in the big cities. We had decided to pair up this time, or they had decided it. They were getting more and more on my nerves on the subject. I was suppose to call in every half hour, so they could make sure I was safe. It was ridiculous! They were afraid on my behalf, and they refused to let me continue as usually.
Techno and Crow, Mammoth and Multiple, Overwatch and me. That was the pairs, and there was no arguing about it. Overwatch had decided that we should patrol the east end of the city. The east end was filled with clubs, bars, loud music and a never ending party. There was a lot of drug dealing in that area, but the Teen Tyrants were never seen in that part of the city. It wasn't a coincidence that they sent me there.
Techno was using his mechanical wings, Crow was flying as usual, Mammoth and Multiple drove in the car, and Overwatch sat behind me on my motorcycle. We reached the point where we should separate, and I made a sharp turn to the right. Overwatch wouldn't stop talking about being in constant contact for safety reasons, and to shut him up I tightened my grip, and pushed the motorcycle to the limit. He almost fell off, but at least he kept quiet the rest of the way.
We reached the party part of Jump City, and walked along the streets for almost three hours. We stopped a couple of deals, and kicked some butt and the rest of the time I ignored Overwatch and his lectures. We walked past a group of men who were surrounding something or someone. We pushed them aside but it was just a fight. We decided to cut in, but while I knocked the first one out, Overwatch lost his guy.
Overwatch: "Lucky we need to..."
L: "No you lost him, now go get him! I'll wait right here."
He rolled his eyes at me, but then he ran after the man. I turned around and walked the other way. I needed some space and some air. They were too protective! I could handle my own life alone. I was walking and looking at the ground, kicking random stones down the sidewalk and avoiding drunk men. I didn't pay attention to the world around me, and because of that I wasn't ready. Suddenly someone grabbed my wrist and dragged me into a dark alley.
I laid my hand on the persons chest so that I could jinx him, but then I looked up. Of course it was Wally! I should have guess that, it was always the dark alleys with him.
S: "You should be more careful. There are dangerous peoples in this area."
L: "I'm not afraid."
S: "I know."
He kissed me, and pushed me up against the wall. I ran my fingers through his hair, and he drew circles on my back. We separated, but he rested his forehead against mine.
L: "Where you following me?"
S: "I heard you yell at the two men fighting. And then I saw your friend run after the other guy."
I rolled my eyes. I was almost embarrassed on behalf of Overwatch.
L: "I don't know what's going on with them, they won't let me go out on my own."
S: "They're afraid you'll get hurt? But you're a much better fighter than them."
I looked down and my cheeks turned red. I hated when he told me how good I was.
