Chapter 13: Everywhere

Streak pov

I did the running, and she did the pointing. Lucky showed me the way, and it didn't take long before we arrived at the FIVEs secret base of operation. The rest of the FIVE was out to find the one called Overwatch, who I had safely placed in the apartment. Which meant that the apartment wasn't secret anymore, but after what happened in the park, I didn't plan on using it again.

We were standing in the forest outside Jump City. I sat Lucky down on the ground, and she took my hand and led the way. We entered a small cave, and Lucky placed her hand on a rock. Mechanical sounds, and then a hidden door opened. I dropped my chin, and Lucky smiled.

L: "After the Tyrants destroyed our last home, we had to be extra careful the second time."

I nodded, not surprised. She took my hand again, and I gave hers a little squeeze. She smiled and led me inside. It had a living room, with a big screen and a couch.

L: "This is the main room, besides this we have the kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms."

She already looked at home. She felt safe here, and I smiled by the thought.

L: "Do you want a tour?"

I slowly walked up to her and took both of her hands in mine. I took a deep breath and looked into her eyes.

S: "Lucky... I have to leave."

Her smile disappeared.

L: "Not already. Red Raven will need time for her leg to heal, and..."

S: "I have nowhere to stay."

L: "With me, you'll stay with me!"

I stroke her cheek. I hated goodbyes, and all I wanted was to stay with her.

S: "You know, that there is nothing I want more. But I have to leave."

I let go of her hands, but she quickly picked mine up again.

L: "We'll find a way."

I slowly shook my head.

S: "I'm sorry Lucky."

A tear appeared and rolled down her cheek. I wanted to kiss her and tell her we would make it work. But I couldn't... I could never return to Jump City. I looked up at the ceiling and took a deep breath.

L: "Then I'll go with you."

Surprised I looked down at her. She had wiped away the tear, and she looked like she was certain.

S: "You can't just leave your city, your team, your friends."

She took a step forward, stood up on her toes, placed her hands around my neck, and then she dragged me down and kissed me. I embraced her and welcomed her. She ended the kiss, and then she rested her head against my shoulder. We just stood like that for some time. Holding each other close. Then I whispered in her ear.

S: "Are you sure?"

L: "Yes, I'm sure."

I dragged her closer, and I kissed her again. My smile was bigger than ever, and her eyes were shinning like diamonds. We both laughed, and I lifted her up and swung her around.

S: "Where do you want to go?"

L: "Everywhere!"

I kissed her and stroke her cheek.

S: "I like that destination."

L: "I just need to get something, it'll only take a second."

She was walking towards the bedroom, but I grabbed her wrist and dragged her in for another kiss.
