Lucky pov
Techno: "Lucky? Is something wrong?"
I shook my head and looked at him. He looked worried, but I didn't care. I sat on the roof of a building and had my legs dangle over the edge. I had been looking at the same building for half an hour now, which probably was the reason Techno thought something was wrong with me.
L: "I'm fine thank you."
I could tell him about last night. I could share my concern, but he wouldn't understand. How could he ever understand that even though Wally killed an innocent man, I still missed him. I should be furious, and wish never to see him again. But I didn't.
Techno: "Well if there's anything I can do to help..."
L: "There isn't."
He looked surprised at me.
Techno: "We're worried about you. You have been acting different lately."
I got up and walked up to him.
L: "That's not your problem! I'll deal with it myself."
Techno looked insulted, and he tried to find words. I was waiting, but I wished that he would stay quiet. Suddenly I could feel a wind, and I knew that we weren't alone anymore. Techno felt it to and he turned around. Right behind him stood Wally, but he didn't look well. His shoulders were hanging and his hair was sweaty.
Techno: "Hey you're..."
Techno hadn't seen Wally before, and Wally used that to his advantage. He flashed up to Techno and knocked him out.
L: "Wally!"
I ran over to them and pushed Wally away, before I checked if Techno was okay. He was knocked cold, but his heart was pounding like normal. I turned around and looked at him.
L: "What the hell are you doing?!"
S: "I made sure to just knock him out, he'll have no pain when he wake up. Only a headache."
I walked up to him and slapped him in the face.
S: "I guess, I deserved that."
L: "Don't you dare touch my friends!"
I was burning with anger, and he was going to have to take it all. Even the part that wasn't meant for him.
S: "I wanted to talk to you."
L: "You think I have anything to say to you?!"
I tried to slap him again, but this time he stopped me by grabbing my wrist.
S: "I want to explain."
I looked around and nodded. I pulled my hand back and wrote to Overwatch that he should check the roof top, and that Techno needed his help. Then I turned off my communicator. Wally was still staring at me, and I wanted to slap him again.
L: "Fine then let's find another place to..."
He didn't allow me to finish before he lifted me up and ran off with me. He stopped in an alley, of course it was an alley! He put me down and I stepped back.
S: "I wanted to apologies and..."
I hadn't noticed before, but standing that close to him, I noticed that he smelled weird.
L: "Have you been drinking?"
He looked at his feet, and the guilty look wasn't hard to recognize. He nodded, and I rolled with my eyes. I took a deep breath. I was mad at him, but I really wanted to hear his explanation. Even though I hated what he did, I hoped that he could give me a reason to forgive him. But not while he was drunk.
L: "I know an old building. We can find a room where we can talk alone. It's not far, we can easily walk."
He nodded and followed me. He was disorientated after running, so I took his hand in mine and showed him the way. We arrived at the building and I helped him up the stairs, he was only getting worse. I jinxed a lock and slowly opened the door. I placed him in the couch and sat down next to it.
S: "I want to explain..."
L: "No you need to sleep it off, then we can talk when you wake up."
S: "What if you're gone when I wake up?"
L: "You'll just have to trust than I'm not."
He looked at me with tired eyes, and I took his hand in mine again. I stroke it with my fingertips until he fell asleep. I looked at the door. I could easily call the cops and go back to Techno. I looked at his hand. It looked so big compared to mine. I closed my eyes. I didn't have to decide immediately.
Streak pov
I slowly opened my eyes, and tried to remember what I was doing and where I was. I was in and old room with only a couch and a table. It hadn't been cleaned in years, but how had I managed to get here. Then I remembered. The guilt and alcohol, and need for explaining myself to Lucky... Lucky! She told me that she would be here when I woke up! I looked around the room, but it was empty. She wasn't here. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I was a fool for believing that she would.
I slowly sat up. My head was killing me, but that I could run away from. I grumbled and cursed alcohol.
L: "Now I don't think you can blame alcohol. It didn't pour itself down your throat did it?"
Shocked I turned my head and watch her stand in the kitchen door. The quick movement made it hurt even more. I closed my eyes and grumbled something. I could hear footsteps, and then I could feel Luckys hand on my forehead and chest. She forced me to lay down again, and it helped. I opened my eyes and looked her in the eyes.
S: "You're still here."
L: "Well I was to curious about that explanation."
I smiled.
L: "I know curiosity killed the cat, but I'll take my chances."
S: "Thank you. Lucky I'm sorry that I scared you, and that you had to hate me. I know you hate me for doing what I do, and I don't blame you. I actually understand perfectly if you can never forgive me. You just have to know something. I'm not sorry that I killed that man. I don't regret it or feel bad about it. But I feel bad about hurting you. I'm not sorry about it, because I don't care about anyone in this city, except for you."
She looked away. I could see a tear in her eye, but she wiped it away. I found her hand, and gave it a gentle squeeze.
S: "I'm sorry, but you had to know the truth. I understand if you have to leave."
She turned back and looked at my hand. Then she lifted it up and kissed it.
L: "I forgive you. If you can promise me one thing."
I was stunned, I thought everything between us was lost. But now that there was a chance to fix things, I had no choice but to take it.
S: "Anything."
L: "Promise me, that you'll never kill an innocent again."
S: "I promise. I'll never kill an innocent as long as I breath."
Then she leaned down and kissed me on my forehead.
