A numerous amount of workers ran around the floors of the large hospital. For them, it was just another day of work, another day of attempting to save lives. For other hospital workers, however, their day had been tragically compromised by the news of one of their fellow coworker's death. It was one life out of the many that they truly wished they would have been able to save, not only for their sake, but for her grief stricken family's sake.

The waiting room on the first floor of the hospital had been taken over by the two remaining members of the Claire family, as well as Greyson, Bucky, Wanda, and Steve, including a few other people none of them knew. Sam was absent, as he was attempting to take care of the problem with Rumlow, but none of them seemed to mind. All of them wanted Rumlow dead, or at least all of them who knew he was responsible did.

Greyson sat in a lone chair in the corner of the room with his head against the wall. He and Mason had arrived to the hospital much quicker than originally anticipated, given the speed in which Greyson had been going in order to get back to Washington in the first place; he was just glad they hadn't arrived at their destination before receiving the call.

He wasn't taking the loss of Miranda well whatsoever, but he knew that in order to be there for Marlena and Mason he would need to keep his composure. In actuality, losing Miranda had destroyed him. She was the love of his life and the mother of the child he had never been granted the opportunity to meet. He had never loved anyone the way he loved Miranda Claire; she brought a certain happiness and completeness to his life that nobody else could match. Now, all he had left of her was Mason and Marlena—the two kids in the world he loved more than anything, despite not being their father, and thinking about losing them on top of losing Miranda only made him feel worse in regards to everything else going on.

Steve sat several seats away from him with his gaze fixed to the floor. He didn't know Miranda as well as everyone else in the room did, but he knew her enough to know that he cared for her. Her death saddened him deeply, though his feelings had more to do with her family, Marlena mostly. He cared deeply about Marlena. He didn't like seeing her in pain, especially to such a devastating extent; he wanted to see her happy, rather than broken as she currently was.

Wanda sat beside Bucky with her head resting on his shoulder and tears flowing from her soft green eyes. She, too, was having a hard time grasping the fact that Miranda was gone. Miranda had given Wanda a place to call home away from her work; she had given Wanda the mother figure she had longed for since she was ten years old. She was among the few left of her family, and now she was gone, and Wanda was more than devastated.

Bucky sat beside Wanda with his head propped up with his right hand and his metal hand, which was covered with a glove, sitting on his lap. He was still trying to process everything that had happened, but with him still trying to gather his own self it was fairly difficult for him to achieve. All he could grasp was the fact that the woman who took him in had been murdered with no remorse, and the love of his entire existence was broken beyond the point of repair. He not only felt his pain from the loss, but he felt Marlena's as well, and he hated it more than anything. All he wanted for her was happiness, freedom from the emotional turmoil of her life, but it seemed to him as if she wouldn't be allowed that any time soon.
