Chapter 3 - Someone drop an inconvenient bomb

 Kristen woke up earlier than usual. She didn't know why but she kept on having bad dreams all night like something was about to happen. Again, she shook her head for thinking stupid things like that. After debating in her head, Kristen finally decided that it was better to get up and get a cup of coffee. As she went downstairs she could hear the shower working, Thomas usually waked up at this hours to get ready because training started in an hour and a half from now. 

Turning the coffee machine and getting a cup were the first two things Kristen did when she got to the kitchen. Then, she poured herself a cup and grabbed her iPad from the kitchen counter. She liked to read the newspapers first thing in the morning to keep her inform of what was happening not just in Germany but around the world as well. 

When she unlocked her iPad screen, Kristen received a notification of a new mail. She immediately opened the mail app, thinking that was an email from her law firm about the case she had taken under her wing yesterday. She frowned when she read that the email was not from her firm but from her co-worker and friend, Della. But still, something wasn't right because Kristen knew that Della never wrote emails to her so early in the morning. 

She opened the email anyway, eager to see what Della had sent her. The email had no title just a sad emoji and a link to a newspaper article. What the heck?

Kristen clicked on the link and decided to read the article that had a very much intriguing title. 

"THE DEEP SECRET

 Thomas Muller, a football player for Bayern Munich, and Lena Dassler, sports journalist of Sky Sports Germany, have through the years showed us without being afraid of the consequences that they don't like each other. Covers of newspapers, magazines, and sequences in television with them discussing have appeared throughout the years and especially in the last three months. 

The pair started to get known for their discussions all across Germany but last week something ground-breaking came to our hands and we had to make sure we had evidence to what we are about to reveal. 

Last week, after Bayern's humiliation against Real Madrid, a free-lance journalist, and paparazzi, caught Lena and Thomas arguing in the Allianz Arena as you can see in the photos that are at the end of the article. So far, nothing different from what we are used to seeing...however the paparazzi didn't just take a photo of the pair discussing, he was also able to hear what they were discussing  

"They were having a heated discussion like they usually had, but as soon as I start listening more closely...I was shocked." Affirmed the free-lance journalist, " I can't believe that this is even real. This put questions about their relationship that I never thought we had to ask." Finally, the free-lance spilled the beans and what he revealed will leave you shocked like it did with the all personal from this magazine. " So, apparently, Thomas Muller cheated on his girlfriend of two years. Nothing too much shocking until now....but who did he cheat with? Well, now that's a twist that no one even saw coming! It was with Lena Dassler. Yes, I heard very well. They slept together three months ago. I think now everyone is going to start asking: do they really hate each other or is this just a combination of sexual tension and jealousy?"

Kristen read the article two more times, still not processing that her Thomas, the man she had come to love had cheated...and with the most unlikely person in the world!! That hideous journalist who thinks she is above everything else. Now everything fits the puzzle, the reason why Thomas had started being so distant with her and why he kept on wanting more and more to humiliate that journalist. She finally got the courage and looked at the pictures. It was true, Thomas was standing too close to Lena's but what crushed her the most was the photo where everyone clearly could see the desire in Thomas' eyes when looking down to Lena, probably looking at her lips...
