28 June 2014, Santo André, Hospital Santa Helena
The ambulance, finally, reach the Hospital Santa Helena. The two DFB doctors went with Lena in the ambulance while Thomas and four other guys went into the car right behind the ambulance.
Thomas almost hyperventilated while he saw the doors of the ambulance open and three other doctors stormed in to help the others transport Lena's unconscious body. It all went fast, neither Thomas nor the other who weren't doctors understood anything of what was going on or what were they doing.
Then they took her inside and moved Thomas, the two DFB doctors and the other four persons that were in the car with Thomas to a private waiting room. The Hospital didn't want to spread the news to the media, they didn't have time nor patience to control a crowd of reporters.
Thomas sunk down against one of the walls while the others sat on the chairs that were in the room.
After some time, Thomas felt Miroslav Klose put his hand on his shoulder. Miro could feel that he was a bit desperate to know what had happen with Lenny, the others were too but Thomas was more. He didn't know exactly how to process anything in his mind.
"Hey, everything is going to be fine. It was just a gone wrong jump." Miro tried to reassure him.
"I hope you're right." Thomas sighed. When she got into the hospital, Lenny didn't look very good and that worried him. A lot.
"I hope too," Thomas heard Miro whispered. After all, he was also trying to convince himself that she was going to be fine.
One hour passed and still there weren't words on Lenny's state. He was growing more impatient by the minute. The DFB doctors tried to reassure him that she wasn't as bad as she looked but he didn't believe in them.
He saw with his own eyes, blood coming out of her head when he reached the pool, he saw her not waking up after many tries from the DFB doctors...he saw everything but she still remained the same. She still remained unconscious and losing a lot of blood from her head.
Thomas fear was growing, heck, he didn't know what emotions where growing. He just knew she had to be alright. She had too, he needed her to be the girl full of live, that he knew and that he had grown to like...to love. Ugh, he needed news.
Muller was getting some water when he saw a doctor coming into the waiting room. He could see that the doctor didn't had a scared expression in his face, he looked calm which made Thomas feel a bit more relieved.
"She is going to be fine." Those were the first words that came out of the doctor's mouth.
Everyone in the room sighed relieved.
The doctor processed talking, " I'm sorry for taking so long to say something but we had a shouting downtown and I had to take care of people that had their life in the balance. By the way, I'm Dr. Vitor Brandão. Well, let's talk about what really matters which is Miss Dassler. She didn't suffer anything serious although we still have to be cautious. Miss Dassler lost a lot of blood so we had to make a blood transfusion. We were worried we would have to operate but it didn't came to that because she stared responding some minutes later."
"So, no major damage that's what you're saying?" Alex asked. He was one of the DFB doctors that were in the room with Thomas.
Dr. Brandão smiled. "No, and she didn't break any bones either. I can say she was very lucky, a lot of pool falls don't turn out as good as hers."
"That's very good. Is she conscious? How much time is she going to stay here?" Alex asked. He was just the team's doctor but Lenny was a fellow German and they all knew her, some more then others.
