Chapter 16 - The twins look worried

28 June 2014, Campo Bahia

After passing in first in the group stages, Germany was getting ready for the Round of 16, their first match of the knockout stages. Now, it was kill or be killed.

Their opponent wasn't as good as them but still they had to be careful and respect all teams. They were playing in two days against Algeria.

But in Thomas mind other problems reigned. He knew he couldn't be like this for much longer. A footballer needs to be focus on the task ahead and Thomas current one was the World Cup not his personal life.

Since he had kiss her, Thomas hadn't spoke with Lenny again. He wanted to but...he didn't know what he could say to her. First, he didn't know if she had felt something like he did and second he was having trouble in coming to terms to how he really feel about her. It could be just attraction, Lenny was a very beautiful woman, no man could say otherwise. Ugh...he was a mess.

Oh and the Wolfgang deal, well that was obviously on the rocks. Thank god, he was away because if he wasn't they both would be in trouble. Neither of them had done what they agreed to do all tournament. Either way, that couldn't last for much longer, Wolfgang returned from Germany tonight.

" Can you just tell me what the heck happen with you and Lenny?" Toni asked Thomas while both made their way back to the locker room. Their afternoon training had just ended.

" Nothing happen." Thomas lied, shrugging.

"Oh really?" Toni pressured, " Then care to explain how the love birds don't talk since we arrived here from our last match. You use to be like clue and now you avoid each other."

"It's nothing especial, Lenny is busy with work." Thomas said, lying once more. He wanted to explain things but that kiss it was well too weird and too good for his mind. It was complicated.

" You really think I'm going to buy that excuse?" Toni asked, " I would buy it if we were one day from the final and still it would be difficult. Common man, just tell me. I can see something is up, your too distracted in training and you joke less with the guys."

Toni was right, he wasn't joking has much has he usually does. He is always the cheerful guy and the funny one but since that day is not being in the mood to really joke about anything.

This was getting very serious. He not making jokes was a very big problem. Someone should call the United Nations and say the world was about to end. Well, for Thomas it really was.

"It's just complicated," Thomas began, maybe telling someone about what happen could make things a little better. Toni was a good guy and he trusted in him.

"How complicated?" Toni asked, curious.

Thomas took a deep breath, rune is hand through his hair and then he replied. " You see...I kind of kissed her in a middle of an arguing."

Toni stopped walking, his blue eyes widen, " You what? Am I dreaming?"

Thomas rolled his eyes, of course Toni would ask that, who wouldn't? Their relationship was everything but romantic. " No, this is very true. It all happen very fast and I can't even explain why I did that."

Toni smiled, " Well, I think that's the easy part. You feel a connection with her. Wait...let me translate that to Thomas language. You like her."

"Very funny, Kroos." Thomas replied not very amused at his attempted joke. He was better served playing football. " I do not like her."

"You do. Everyone in the team and staff sees that, you are the only one that doesn't. Maybe you need to start using some glasses, today they make some very nice and with very..."

Thomas cut him off, " Oh, stop it! I got what you meant."

Toni didn't ask anything more, they continue making their way into the locker room. He knew that Thomas needed to think clearly about what he had told.

However he still needed to ask one thing, for the sake of the team.

"The fact that you kiss Lenny has anything to do with Bastian's mood?" Toni asked.

He didn't know, the last thing he knew was that he had seen them together in the same day Thomas was claiming he kissed her. In fact, how the hell did that happen? This was beginning to be too confusing.

"He doesn't know that I kissed her." Thomas revealed, he knew Bastian was furious because she had rejected him and Bastian blamed Thomas for that. " Bastian was put in the friend zone after his attempt of kissing her."

" Ouch, that must hurt." Toni said, laughing a little. The DFB and this World Cup was becoming more a soap opera then a football tournament.

"Yeah, it must..." Thomas mumbled. He was still figuring it out in which category he feat in.

Toni shook Thomas arm, " Hey, at least she kissed you back. That means something...wait, she did kiss you back right?"

He sighed sadly, " Yeah, but not for long."

He would never forget how addictive her kisses where, how good it felt and how much he wanted to do that again. When they slept together in that Gala, he was drunk and he couldn't remember how it really felt but now...sweet god! He wanted her so badly.

"Well, the way you answered it says it all." Toni laughed lightly, " Your really into Lenny."

Thomas was about to reply when he saw Noah and Luna, the Klose twins, running like crazy towards the field. Where the staff was still in.

Thomas and Toni observed them. Soon they reached the field, the twins went to the doctors. They looked in a worry and afflicted with something. Then seconds later, the twins start running back and with them also went the two DFB doctors. When they were passing them again, Thomas grabbed Noah's little arm.

"Hey, what happen, Noah?" He asked.

The little blonde man seemed worried with something. His expression said it all.

" There was an accident in the pool." Noah said panting, he did a lot of running. " She was trying to show us some tricks but she fell wrongly and then blood starting coming off her head. Daddy just said to call the team's doctors while he called the ambulance."

"Who is she, Noah?" Thomas asked.

"It's Lenny, Muller."

Oh...now we have some kind of twist! Hmm...so the next questions are: Will Lenny be ok? How is Thomas going to react? Will he figure it out how he feels about her and will Lenny figure it out too?
