The Motion

#TheMotionFanfic [Chapter 9]

Averie and Aubrey were sitting at his dinner table after he had gotten back from his tour and promoting. Aubrey was drinking wine and Averie was sipping whiskey. Aubrey was done his first album and was fresh off his nominated for a Grammy but didn't even have an album high and he wanted to spend his downtime with Averie. Someone who was perfect for his downtime. Averie stared at him from across the table. She gave him a daring look. A "kiss me" look. But he didn't do anything. They both learned that them both jumping into bed would not make what they had any better. And with Averie having almost no emotions and Aubrey having more than you could think of, foreplay on an intellectual level satisfied them both. And plus, Aubrey was looking to do anything brand new to show the effort he was willing to put into the relationship. Aubrey walked over to her. Averie stood up.

Aubrey: Do you love me?

Averie (With a smile): In a way.

Aubrey grabbed Averie.

Aubrey: When I'm bigger. Like when I'm legendary. I promise you. We gonna live it up.

Averie (Raising her eyebrow): How bout (Turning Aubrey still facing her, to the table and laying him back) we live for (climbing on top of him) now.

Aubrey: Stay with me in Miami.

Averie stopped.

Averie: What?

Aubrey (Sitting up): I bought a condo in Miami. Biscayne. And I can't wait to see you out in a bikini.

Averie: Miami. As in Florida?

Aubrey: No. Miami, British Columbia. Yes. Florida. It'll be nice and I'm not saying you have to live with me.

Averie: Then what are you saying?

Aubrey: I'm saying that you and your things can stay there when I stay there.

Averie: Live with you? Awww do you want me to be your first live in girlfriend?

Aubrey was growing up. A live in girlfriend would be an ultimate step.

Averie: I mean tour bus recording. Endless and sleeplessness nights. You told me how exhausted you always are and us being together here isn't as much as we'd want. Why'd you get a second place?

Aubrey: I'm always in Miami. Miami is hot. Miami is sexy. Just like you and me and my boys don't wanna waste our time and money always booking a hotel when we can just have a place for us and a couple areas (Pulling Averie to him) all to ourselves.

Averie didn't know it she was ready to be a live in girlfriend. A few months ago she was just a replacement girl. Aubrey grew up a lot once he recorded his first album. He thought a little more rationally and he had a better appreciation for who he truly wanted around him. Complete strangers became his family over night but he got a chance to get to know Averie and he honestly wanted her around. Aubrey took Averie to the condo in Miami. She'd been in America but she hasn't been an experienced tourist. She didn't even know Aubrey was a dual citizen until he told her about the condo. His bodyguard obviously went with him but wasn't all over Aubrey and Averie when they wanted to be alone in his room. Aubrey wasn't a huge romantic yet. He came up Averie and kissed her cheek.

Averie (Turning around to him): You can't stay with one girl.

Aubrey: You're not "one girl".

Averie: I'm one of many girls?

Aubrey: You're one for me.

Averie felt like this was Aubrey's first relationship and even though it felt good and Averie was younger than Aubrey, she felt like she knew more about the relationship than him. And she was only supposed to be his fixer. Know any and everything about how to make his career go as smoothly as possible. But they both knew that that wasn't the only purpose Averie served.

Aubrey kissed Averie.

Aubrey: You like the place?

He rapped his arms around Averie and held her.

Averie: Yeah. It's cool. (Turning to Aubrey) Do you like where you are right now?

Aubrey: What do you mean?

Averie didn't really wanna bring up the robbery but there were some moments where she really worried about Aubrey.

[Flashback]

Aubrey: What makes you think I can trust anyone? This life is fucking crazy man, and I'm trying to keep up. I'm exhausted and I feel like all this shit rides on me.

Averie: I'm not gonna be a stereotypical female protagonist and say 'You can trust me' but I don't, just like your group of friends that you keep around you give you any reason to not trust me. But hey (Grabbing her laptop), I'm just your friend with a couple of benefits, right?

Averie saw the subtle changes in Aubrey after the robbery and his knee injury. His album was finished. His Grammy was nominated for and he appeared content but Averie was psychoanalyzing him every chance she got and she saw the small little cracks in his mirror.

[Now]

Averie: What do you mean what do I mean? I wanna know where you are (pointing to his head) up here.

Aubrey (Moving her hands from his head): I'm fine. I'm a new artist. I have to establish myself.

Averie: That's not what I'm talking about. I'm not talking about Drake. I'm talking about Aubrey. You. Are YOU okay?

Aubrey was one of the most emotionally intelligent people Averie knew but sometimes they both blocked each other out for the sake of saving grace. They didn't want their relationship to be like old ones but in all reality it was completely brand new.

Aubrey (Sitting down): I'll be fine when I'm the greatest and I stop reinjuring my knee.

Averie (Sitting in his lap): I think you'll be perfect when you start being a little more honest with yourself.

Averie and Aubrey had the most awkward relationship you could think of being possible. They weren't really together but they weren't apart either. They knew very much that they were in love but they also knew that they weren't in a relationship. This wasn't as easy or as complicated as it looks. Averie depended on Aubrey for his honesty and sincerity. And Aubrey depended on Averie for her strong will and spearheaded ways. Aubrey, being catapulted into this world where every single girl could be at his disposal, kept and wanted Averie around for much more than sex. But Averie and Aubrey "moved on". Dated people. Slept with people. But when they both settled down for a moment, here they were. Maybe that was just the motion.
