Ihop
(yn)
ten thirty-eight, Tuesday November tenth, twenty-sixteen.

I was carrying the bucket of cleaning supplies In the direction of the washroom when Callie called to me from somewhere just out of my field of vision.

"There's people at the door." before I could answer she continued, "And no, still not your little red-headed friend."

"I wasn't going to ask that, for the record." I called back. Sighing, I made my way back through the waitress prep-station, placing the bucket down on the counter, and walked out into the dining room. At the door was Tim, Ross and someone who wasn't Max. I walked to them , grabbing their menus and lead them to their table.

"Wow, a whole week sans Ihop?" I asked,

"Yeah I know, I almost died from lack of calorie intake," remarked Ross as we walked through the restaurant, I let out a little snicker.

I had now completely dropped my retail voice around them, they seemed like nice people, and I considered them as new friends, despite not having seen them for a while. I plopped the menus on the table and the three slid into the booth, Ross and Tim telling me their orders immediately.

"And there's a new face!" I said to the new face,

"Yeah, I'm Adam. You must be (y/n)?"

"I must be, though I'm not quite sure how you deciphered that since my missing nametag here," I motioned to the spot where nametags usually go, and where I didn't.

"Nah, Ross and Tim and Max have talked about you a couple times, I just assumed."

"Well," I said, "Glad I'm a topic of discussion,"

"All good things,"

"I'd hope so, Do you know what you'd like yet? Or should I come back," I asked,

"You could have a seat," Said Ross. A quick scan of the restaurant confirmed what I already knew; it was empty, so I turned back and sat down next to Tim.

"This isn't the usual trio," I commented,

"Well, Max is finishing up some editing but the three of us were already done, since we're his ride we thought we'd get dinner and when we got back he'd be done." Ross said again,

"You all drive home together?"

"Even fuckin' better, we live together." Tim said, turning to look at me. "Plot twist" He whispered under his breath. Both Adam and Ross let out loud, happy sounds of laughter, Tim and I joined in. Callie was right, they were a riot. Speak of the devil, She appeared from around a corner,

"Hey fellas, mind if I ask (y/n) here a-"

"Yes you can start your closing jobs," I interrupted, playfully. She smiled and nodded, "Tell Ty he can too?"

"Sure,"

She scurried off.

"You're like the manager around here?"

"No, we don't have a manager, Just Tammie, she's the owner."

"You seem like the manager to me," Ross said,

"Very manager-y"

"Such management" Adam chimed in,

"Yeah well, I hope not because as soon as I can, I'm leaving."

"What?" Ross said,

"Why?" Scoffed Tim,

"Well," I sighed, "I don't really enjoy working here, I don't like working the night shift, I don't like the customer service."

"If not here, where would you work?" Ross asked, and once again, I sighed.

"I'm not really sure, anyways, you know what you're getting yet Adam?" I asked, He nodded and told me, so I got up, punched in their three orders and ordered myself some breakfast aswell. Once the food was ready, I returned and plopped it down in front of each person, including myself. We all dug in, and after seemingly sharing  a look of recognition, Adam started asking me some stuff regarding my job.

After grilling me with endless questions, it was finally my turn to ask the guys about themselves.

"So, youtube?"

"Yep," Replied Adam, I didn't know anything about YouTube if I'm honest, never watched it, Eli and I only ever watched movies and occasionally Tv shows,

"Do you like that?"

"I love it, people are so supportive and it's honestly just my dream job, I'm getting paid for doing what I love," He replied,

"I envy that, You have a large fanbase?"

"I mean yeah,"

"Oh please Adam," Ross cut in, "He has eleven million subscribers."

"Holy fuck." I said, "that's a hellofalot of people. "

he just nodded and smiled, a half an hour later, Ross got a text, he checked it under the table.

"That was Max, he says he's done working."

"We should head out then," Said Tim,

"Wait, why haven't I seen Max?"

"We've been really busy I guess." Said Tim,

"You have?"

"Well, I haven't, Max has."

"Abnormally busy, I think he wants a raise because he keeps asking for more jobs." Added Adam,

"Yea, it's so unlike him. He's working until, like, eleven lately." Said Tim.

"Would that have anything to do with him not wanting to come here?" I asked, out of curiosity.

"I wouldn't think so," replied Ross, "But he's been really on edge lately, something is probably just bothering him."

"Well come in soon, and bring him with you!" I said, enthusiastically. I walked the three to the doors, saying bye to each of them and waving them off. My eyes followed them into the dark parking lot, but I couldn't help but wonder, where has he been?

Author's note:
Sorry about the short chapter last chapter, sometimes I am going to do chapter's like that, where it's just a few parts of a conversation, trust me it's not because I'm busy it's actually important to the storyline, I have so many big plans for this story. I just kind of wanted you guys to get to know your character and her circumstances, there's some important information in the past chapters that have been subtly put in there, I know it's a bit boring right now but bear with me, drama and romance and a whole lotta max is going to be in this upcoming chapter, so stay tuned!
