Once upon a Friend

Let me tell you a story

About a good friend of mine

Who had an easy smile

Who was loyal, true and kind

You'd think she was glad

But in the end

She was not

Just like a broken toy

They threw her away without a second glance

She was left beaten

Nothing of courage left

And yet she never let it show on her delicate face

She was beautiful

Just like a flower in a garden

She was lovely

But words cut deep

People were cruel

Nobody cared

Yet nobody knew

The season passed

And winter came

Now her smile was fading away

Slightly

Yet

Slowly

She was giving up on living

She sits alone

Not a tear shown

As she writes the letter

Of her final last words

She wrote

goodbye and farewell, to all those who don't care, cause soon you will join me, down there in burning hell, I would wish you the best but that would be cruel, since I already know, you will be following me too.

She got up

The rope around her neck

Then she toke her last breath

That day of winter

Was the day I found the truth

Behind my once upon a friend

Who I thought I really knew
