I shot up as I see Anakin on top of my waving his lightsaber. My eyes shot around frantically as I see two worm like beings lay dead next to my bed. I hear a loud crash and turned my head to see Obi Wan fly through the city on a droid. I began to hear many footsteps approach.
"Stay here" Anakin command me. Not like I was going to anyways. I'm frozen in shock. I was seconds away to death. I see Anakin run out my door and in comes Ravenna and many guards with their blasters in hand.
"M'lady, are you alright?" I didn't say anything, just nodded. From the corner of my eyes, I could see some guards inspecting the dead worms by my bed.
"Princess Killesa, we need you to evacuate your room for the meantime. We need to thoroughly investigate this room" I looked and nodded at the man. Ravenna helped me up off my bed and we made our way into the living area. About 5 guards were there when we arrived.
"What happened?"
"I do not know. I woke up with Anakin hovering above me and waving his lightsaber."
"I'm just happy you're safe, Astoria" she pulled me into her as I hugged her back. We both stayed in the living quarters surrounded by multiple guards. About half an hour later, Anakin arrives followed by his Master. As soon as they saw me, they came rushing to my side.
"M'lady, how do you feel?"
"I'm alright. What about you two?" I looked them over and was relief to see no harm done on them
"We're alright, your majesty." Obi Wan assured me. I nodded
"Did you find the assassin?" I questioned. I see the two glance at one another in uncertainty.
"Yes but it seems that she worked for someone else." Obi Wan replies.
"Did she tell you who?" I asked curiously. They shook their heads slightly.
"That's the problem Astoria. Before she could even say a name, a toxic dart lodges into her neck. But she did say it was a noble" my eyes widen in shock.
"A noble? Why would a noble want me dead? I'm no threat to anyone"
"That, we do not know yet. Tomorrow morning Anakin and I will have a talk with the Jedi council about what we'd do next" I nodded. I hear a set of large heavy footsteps approaching.
"Astoria! Oh I'm so happy to see you're alright" I hear the all too familiar voice of my long time family friend
"Senator Organa? What are you doing here?" I asked as he pulled me into him.
"I heard about the attempt assassination on you. I just had to come and see if you are alright." He cupped my face in his large hands. He looked me over, looking for any signs of injuries before taking me into an embrace.
"I'm so happy you're okay. I don't know what I'd do if you were gone. Your like a daughter to me Astoria"
"Well technically I sort of am. I am your goddaughter" I laughed slightly trying to defuse the tension in the room. He chuckled and nodded
"I suppose so." He gave me one last smile before He turned to face the two Jedi's.
"Did you find out who it was?" He asked with all traces of worry off his face. His facial expression turned to a one of seriousness.
"No Senator, but we do know that the person that's after the princess is a noble" Obi Wan replies.
"A noble? A noble of Alderaan or of a different planet?" Senator asked
"She never got the chance to say. Someone shot a toxic dart at her" Anakin answered for his master.
"I see, well it seems that your apartment isn't deemed safe anymore. Why don't you and Master Kenobi and Anakin stay at my home for the time being"
"Thank you Senator" I smiled great fully. Ravenna grabbed some of my bags and stored my clothes and personal belongings inside. I walked inside the kitchen to see Nani still asleep. Of course.
"I see you brought Nani with you. Does your parents know?" I turned around to see senator Organa. I chuckled and shook my head
"No. I know they would be mad but I can't bear to be away from her. She's my closet companion." I turned away from him and knelt down to her sleeping form. I gently stroked her fur and softly called out her name. Her eyes slowly open and she yawns while stretching. After she was done I picked her up and carried her back into the living area. I see Obi Wan, Anakin and Ravenna sitting on the couch waiting for Senator Organa and I.
"Are you ready Princess Killesa?" I nodded my head
"Yes" Senator Organa led us out of my apartment and into the once empty hallways, Anakin and Obi Wan behind Ravenna and I.
"Oh and Master Kenobi?" I called out. I turned around to see him looking at me questioningly.
"You can call me Astoria if you'd like" I smiled. He nodded in return.
"If that is what you wish, Astoria" he smiled. We finally made it to Senator Organa's ship. Many men surrounded the area, guns loaded in case of anything. The trip to the senator's place was short as it was only a few miles away. I was then led into a fairly large room. The walls were painted white and most of the furniture was either black or gray. The senator had a guard place my bags inside along with Nani's cage. I picked up one of my many bags and opened it. I began hanging my dresses when a soft knock came from my door. I gently laid one of my dresses on my bed and went to open the door.
"Hello Anakin. What brings you here?" I smiled softly.
"I needed to ask you something" he said scratching the back of his neck nervously. I moved aside to let him in. I walked back to my bed and continue hanging my dresses.
"How are you really feeling Astoria?" I stopped mid folding and looked up.
"What do you mean" I laughed nervously.
"Like how do you actually feel about this whole deal. And don't say you're fine because I know you're not" his face read of no trace of humor. He was serious. I sighed and sat down on my bed.
"Honestly, I'm scared. What if you never came in? I would've been dead! Who would rule over Alderaan then?" I exclaimed. I knew I was overreacting but what if it did come true. What will happen to my kingdom then?
"Don't worry Astoria. As long as I'm here I won't let anything hurt you" he laid his right hand on my shoulder rubbing it in a comforting way. I do not know what came over me. I stood up and pulled Anakin into an embrace. I could feel him tense at first but he slowly calmed down and wrapped his arms around me.
"Thank you Anakin" I whispered into his chest. I know this was inappropriate but I could not help it. Anakin has done more than he should have. He was only here to help protect me. I knew befriending him would be a bad choice. Not that I don't want to be around him. It's just that once this whole assassination is over, I'll have to go back to Alderaan and take my throne. It means I'll never see him again. But it was to late. I already cared for Anakin
