I can't believe this! I'm being sent to somewhere I have never been to. To live with people I have never met. I was angry. No. I was furious. I don't want to move. I want to know who it is that is after my life and why? From the corner of my eyes, I could see a figure leaning on my door frame. I didn't need to look up to see who it is.
"Hello Astoria" I didn't look up and continued folding one of my dresses.
"What is it Anakin. I am busy" I mumbled as I walked around the room, taking whatever is necessary. I hear him sigh.
"Look, I know you're not happy with the councils choice but-" I snapped my head up and look into his eyes glaring slightly.
"I most certainly am not happy about this. I am tired of being moved. I want to know who it is that is trying to kill me and what their purpose is" my voice raised slightly.
"That is what Master Kenobi will find out. He is on his way to Alderaan as we speak" I huffed in annoyance and continued folding my clothes.
"I just hope he finds out soon. My coronation is less than a season away" I looked up worriedly. It all began to sink in. My coronation is less than a season. I'll be queen.
"Don't worry. He will m'lady" I nodded, still unsure but I decided to let it go. I packed the last of my belongings and sat on my bed staring at the wall before me. I feel the bed sink beside me.
"What are you thinking?" He asked curiously.
"What if I am not a good queen? What if I lead Alderaan to its downfall?" I revealed. Sadness evident on my face. I turned to look at him and he looked at me with disbelief.
"Astoria what are you talking about? You will make a good queen. Just in the short time I've know you, I learned how compassionate and determined you are. You have all aspects of a strong and powerful leader." I smiled at him. His word making me feel more confident. We stared at each other but both of seemed not to care. I took in his entire appearance. Baby blue eyes, plump lips, strong jawline. To me he was the most beautiful being I've ever seen. If only he'll see any more as a friend.
"Thank you. For everything" I said not breaking our eye contact.
"It's no problem. I'd do anything for you" he smiled. We were soon interrupted when a Captain marched in.
"Your grace, the ship is ready for you" I nodded. I stood up fixing my dress.
"Thank you. I shall be there in just a moment" he nodded and left Anakin and I alone once again. Anakin, along with a few guards, grabbed a bag and headed towards the launch bay. I followed next to Anakin. No words were shared but we didn't mind. I was quickly escorted inside. And sat on a bench.Anakin soon came in and sat besides me.
"Are you happy to meet your distant relatives?" I turned to look at him and shrugged.
"Yes and no. I've never met them so I know absolutely nothing about them" I answered truthfully. He nodded in understandment.
"But I am excited to see an old friend of mine" I continue excitedly.
"What's their name?" He cocked his head to the side. I giggled.
"Padmé" I haven't seen her in almost 2 years. I heard she's now the senator of Naboo.
"As in Padmé Amidala, the former queen?" He furrowed his eyebrows questioningly. I nodded smiling softly.
"Yes. Do you know her?" I asked softly.
"Yes. She's a friend. I met her when she was in Tattooine about 10 years ago." Now it was my turn to look confused.
"What was she doing there?" Not that I'm judging Tatooine, it's just that it's the exact opposite of what she's grown up to. I'd never thought she's visit a desert planet.
"Her ship broke down so she seeked shelter on the planet" I nodded. That makes more sense.
"We'll be leaving soon princess" I hear a voice behind me. I turned around and saw the man from earlier. The captain that interrupted us earlier.
"Thank you Captain" he bowed and left, heading back for the cockpit.
"Wait! Can I speak to her one last time?" I hear the loud yet calming voice of my closest friend scream from outside. I giggled and stood up walking out to see her. Her eyes landed on my and ran full speed at me. I laughed as we collided.
"You better be careful on Naboo Astoria." He threatened jokingly. I nodded.
"I will mother" I teased. She glared playfully and handed me a pile of clothes. I looked at it questioningly.
"These will help you and Anakin blend in on Naboo." She smiled. I hugged her again.
"Thank you Ravenna but I must be on my way" I smiled sadly as did she.
"Alright. I'll see you soon" she pulled me into another hug. I quickly walked back inside the ship and watched as the doors began to close until I could no longer see her figure. I then took my seat beside Anakin. I handed him his clothes and he looked at it questioningly.
"Ravenna thought that we should dress like normal citizens so we can blend in" he nodded understandingly.
"I'm going to change if you don't mind" I didn't wait for a reply as I began walking towards the bathroom. I quickly stripped myself out of my gown and into a dark brown dress. I slid on the boots that she has given me. I then unclipped my hair letting it fall down my waist. I quickly braided two chunks on top of my head then pulled the rest into a long ponytail. Once I was satisfied with how I looked, I walked out only to see Anakin asleep. Instead of a calm position, he thrashed around in his sleep. I quickly ran to him kneeling down. I shook his shoulders calling his name.
"Anakin? Anakin?!" His eyes sprang open any to see my worried eyes. He sat up quickly and grabbed his temples, massaging it.
"What is bothering you Anakin? You can tell me" he only shook his head.
"It's nothing. It was just a nightmare"
"Really Astoria. I'm fine" I reluctantly agreed. I knew something was wrong but I know he'll tell me when he feels he is ready too. Until then, I will wait.
