Brooklyn Best has always been underestimated.
She has been bullied since she started singing. She can sing like a beautiful angel, but no one cares.
Brook sneaks out almost every day to sing at MochaTown; her local coffee shop that everyone loves.
Brooklyn's POV
I pulled the microphone down a bit and I rested my bum on the wooden stool.
"Hi, my name is Brooklyn Best, but I go by Brook. Try the new strawberry passion fruit tea today for only 2 pounds!" I rolled my eyes at the advertisements I had to say. "Anyway... This is 'Everything has changed'. Enjoy." I smiled and strummed my guitar.
"All I knew, since yesterday" I started as a farmiliar face walked into the door.
He had a chiseled face, always covered up by the outer rim of a grey hoodie. His dark brown eyes were always welcoming; yet mysterious. His pink lips were outlined by black-brown facial hairs.
He ran his tongue against his upper teeth as he rested his left elbow on the arm rest of the chair. I could feel him stare at me like this for my next 4 songs I sang, also written by me.
This continued for days. First Monday, then Tuesday, then Wednesday... for a whole week.
Until that Friday.
I had just finished my last song and I was packing all my stuff, collecting the tips, and taking down the mic.
"Um Hi." The mystery guy smiled.
"Hello!" I chirped.
"You don't... know me?" He looked down.
"Well all I see of your face is your eyes so honestly I don't." I smiled politely.
He sighed and grabbed the metal zipper, thrusting it down his chest, revealing his face.
"Zayn Malik from One Direction?!?" My eyes got huge.
"Shh!!" He covered my mouth with his large, tan hands.
"Sorry." I giggled, pushing back a brown strand of hair.
"Do you by any chance have a record label?" He raised an eyebrow politely.
Did he really think I was good?!?!
"HECK NO! I just sing around here for the heck of it."
"Do you know who Simon Cowell is?"
Did he think I lived under a rock.
"Yep." I shook with nervousness.
"If you're free tonight, would you like to come over to our house? We're having a bonfire and you can sing him something." Zayn lit up like a Christmas tree.
I nodded furiously as he handed me a slip of paper with a number on it.
Not just any number..
Zayn Maliks number.
Niall's POV
"Ugh we have 2 weeks before our tour and still NOT ONE BLOODY IDEA FOR AN OPENING ACT!" Louis shouted, slamming a fist on the table.
"Incorrect." Zayn walked in with a bag of McDonalds as he set it on the kitchen table where we were sitting.
I ran over until Zayn blocked me.
'Ruuude." I grunted.
"Watch this everyone." Zayn got everyone crowded around him as he pressed the play button of a video.
A beautiful face appeared of a brunette singing Marry Me by Train.
"Marry me, today and every day" she blared, closing her eyes on the high notes.
"She's so beautiful." I smiled at her face smiling back.
Harry smirked and nodded his head.
"She's like a little fairy in Fairytown!" He smiled cheesily and grabbed the flowers out of the vase on our table and put them on his head. "I am too. Hee hee hee." He laughed at his own joke.
"Riiight. Annyyyyway..." Zayn sat in the seat beside me. "She's coming over tonight for our bonfire. She's going to play a few songs for us and we can decide if we want her on tour."
So I had 3 hours to get ready and make a great impression.
Game on.
~
"Hello..." A shy voice murmured.
"Brookieeeeeeee!" Zayn shouted like he had known her forever.
I rolled my aqua eyes to the back of my head and spritzed some of Bleu de Chanel around my neck.
"Booooooooooooysss!" Zayn screamed.
I steadily jogged down our stairs, almost colliding with a small, petite body... which was now held in my arms.
Brooklyn's POV
I fell into the huge arms of a body which had ran into me.
"Oh my God!! I'm so sor" I looked up, being cut off of this guy.
He had a perfectly defined face, with blonde hair and brown roots. His eyes were the color of the water on the beach in Mexico. His pink lips formed into a smile when he realized we were staring at eachother. His cheeks grew red.
"Sorry.." He smiled in the most adorable Irish accent.
"Aw-k-ward." The brunette with curly hair whistled.
~
I was sitting on a chair the boys brought out for me.
"So Brooklyn... You have music for us?" Simon smiled.
"Yes." I pulled out my guitar as I heard a gasp fill the air.
"WEYHEY! WE HAVE THE SAME GUITAR!!" Niall leaned over, high-fiving my palm sharply, turning it a rosy color.
"TWINNIES!" I giggled.
I strummed the chords to the beginning More Than This.
"I KNOW THIS SONG!" Liam said giddily.
"I'm broken, do you hear me?" I harmonized.
Looking around, the boys had their jaws dropped and eyes wide.
Finally I had finished, and the only sound was the fire crackling.
Louis smiled and clapped his hands slowly, causing the boys to do the same.
"Brooke.. Im so sorry." Simon lowered his head, causing me to automatically put up my guitar. "Will you be our opening act for the tour?" He smiled.
"Yes." I smiled.
"Great!! Pack soon, we start in a week."
