"We have a way to land, right?" Alex asked Belle over the howling of the wind.

"Yup," Belle answered calmly, over the howling of the wind.

"What is it?"

"Well, I'll give you a hint. It starts with 'A' and ends with 'lex.'" Alex instantly realized it was him. "HOW?" he asked.

"Just ask Wind. It'll know."

Alex took that advice and cleared his mind. He focused on Wind, his only friend in this dark, cruel world.

Wind?

Yes, Alex?

Can you please stop us from falling?

I was planning on doing that. Immediately, Alex's falling speed began to lower. Soon enough, the Destined were landing gently on the wheat field below. They armed themselves, and Jeremiah and Marionette combined into Shadow Jeremiah. The crew stayed still for a moment. When Alex quietly asked why, Heather quietly answered that they were waiting to--

a soft buzzing, gradually becoming louder, could be heard. Heather nodded, and Alex knew what she meant. That was what they were waiting for. After another moment of lying still, Shadow Jeremiah and August pointed to the same direction, which was to Alex's right. The suit and Marionette combination must have given each a boost in their hearing. The two guys led the team in that direction until they came to a clearing with a six-foot-tall insect in the center.

Locust slowly turned around. The clearing around him looked like he had decided to smooth it out because he had nothing better to do. Until the Destined had interrupted him(not rudely, since it was unintentional, mind you), he had been quietly meditating. Now that the Destined were here, however, he had other plans.

"You've found me," he hissed, his head rattling every few seconds. The Destined didn't know what to say about that. Luckily, Locust started the fight for them by suddenly dashing towards them and scaring the pants off of Alex.

August punched for Locust, but the creature just turned into a swarm and re-formed six feet back. Shadow Jeremiah ran for him, and Heather leaped out to support him. She  cried out, "Ursa Aureus!" and thrust her hand out, and golden liquid shot from her palm and formed into a giant golden bear.

The bear and Shadow Jeremiah seemed to be good friends. In fact, they shook hands--and walked into each other.

The bear resulting was quite the bear. Alex had seen it once before, but didn't know its name. It was easily twelve feet tall, even if it stood on all fours. Unlike Ursa Aureus and Bearemiah(which Jeremiah had told Alex about), it didn't have a singular type of color or smooth fur. Its fur was thick, ragged, and spiky. At the base of the fur, it was golden, but the tips were black. Its eyes shone a radiant indigo. As a last fact, it made Alex want to run and hide, and he would have if he hadn't known that Jeremiah was inside that bear's brain.

"Oh, good. Ursa Magnus," Heather breathed in relief.

"I'm helping," Alex said suddenly, then ran into the fray before anyone could stop him.

Ursa Magnus and Locust were having quite the tussle. Ursa would punch, Locust would dodge, re-form on Ursa's back and sting him a lot, and Ursa would punch, this time hitting him. It was an endless cycle, and Alex wanted to change it. So, knowing that Locust was really scary and a bug and scary and had stingers and scary, Alex mounted Ursa and whacked Locust with his staff.

Immediately, as Berserker's Iron did, a burn mark appeared on Locust's back. Locust cursed and stung Alex right in the stomach. With that distraction, Ursa Magnus rolled onto his back and crunched Locust underneath him. A swarm of locusts flew from underneath Ursa and re-formed into Locust, who stung Ursa again. Alex whacked him with the staff, but he just turned into locusts again and flew near the Destined.

Alex, who was surfing on Ursa Magnus as the mammoth bear(note for those who imagine things: Ursa Magnus is four times the height of a grizzly bear when on all fours) lurched towards them, teamed up with Wind to launch a tunnel of Wind at Locust, forcing him to turn into a swarm again. August shot fire from his gauntlets at the swarm, which seemed to be completely ineffective.

"RRURRGH(we should try getting him into the air, perhaps)!" Ursa Magnus suggested.

"What?" Alex rebuked. "You can't be serious, bear."

"GRRRRGH(Just give it a whirl, kid)!"

Alex sighed, then created another Wind tunnel, trapping the swarm of locusts. He maneuvered the swarm upward and let it go, and the swarm proceeded to float back down. To stop that, Alex and Ursa leaped into the sky. A shadowy object appeared behind the swarm, and Ursa Magnus seemed to be gravitating quickly towards it.

Alex created another Wind tunnel as the mammoth bear and he met the swarm. He made the tunnel smaller and smaller until the swarm was so compressed, it was forced to re-form into Locust. "THE PLAN!" Alex cried out to the Destined, specifically Penny, below. Penny understood and took a small silver needle out of her pocket. August, seeing the needle, took a small box out of his pocket. He threw it on the ground, and it turned into a slingshot. Fortunately for Alex, he wasn't surprised enough by the sudden slingshot to lose his bond with the Wind and free Locust out of time. He had seen enough weird stuff to not be extremely shocked.

Penny mounted the needle onto the slingshot, and Heather rushed in. She had worked with a bow; she would have the best aim. She lined up the shot with Locust and...

Fired.

The needle soared towards its target, careening fast as heck, and Alex let go of Locust at the last second. The needle nailed the insect right in the face, and the insect fell to the ground, writhing in pain.

Ursa Magnus and Alex high-fived, breaking every bone in Alex's arm(not really). However, it seemed now was not the time for celebration now, as Locust had one more thing to say.

"You think...I would lose...that easily?" he rasped, his head rattling with each pause. "I've hidden three eggs...across the world. When they hatch...they will destroy...the life on Earth...so that TG...will rule. Destroy them...if you know...what's good for you."

Alex cursed a lot and kicked the catapult. "GRRRM GRRRARR(We're not done with the bad news just yet)," Ursa Magnus cut in. He defused into Ursa Aureus, who transformed into golden liquid, which went to Heather's hand. There was also Bearemiah, who defused into Jeremiah and Marionette. Marionette began to unravel before the Destined's eyes.

"What is going on?" Heather asked, concerned for the shadow person.

"He's unraveling," the nearly unconscious Jeremiah responded. "He's gone beyond his limit, now he's dead." Marionette's skin unraveled more and more, until the shadows were gone and only a small white orb, like a neutron star, remained.

"What is that?" Alex asked.

"A core," Jeremiah answered. "don't touch it, or you'll be sucked into a different world. One with five different countries, each guarded by people in leather armor and silly masks, I presume." The core stayed there for a moment, shining brightly, until it exploded into light.

The Destined were knocked out by the explosion's rush of energy.
