DESTINED SERIES: BOOK TWO
Two kids, Alex and Penny, are strange people. Alex has the power to control the wind, and Penny has the power to control, create, and combine chemicals. One day, just as Alex is confessing his crush on Penny, the two get dr...
"How long until we reach the island?" Alex asked August.
"Just two hours, mi amigo. Be patient," August answered. Alex left August's room and went back to his own, sitting on his bed. He could barely even try to pretend to be patient. Every night, Scar Shi taunted him in his dreams, telling him that he would never be able to do anything greater than the power of the beetle. Alex had tried to ignore him, but he was running low on will and ignorance. If he didn't get to bash Scar Shi's head in soon, he was probably going to go insane.
He decided it would be best to practice his staff moves. That would calm him down. He remembered that he should probably talk to Wind, but he really wasn't in the mood at that moment. All he did was practice the moves that Windigo had taught him in his dreams. A spin, a whack, a few more little things and he was done. He decided to go talk to Jeremiah, so he walked into the cabin next door. Jeremiah wasn't there, so he continued on, passing through an empty eating room and entering a training room with a samurai in it, clad in black armor.
"What the heck?" Alex called out in surprise. The samurai looked at him. "Oh, Alex! I'm just making sure my armor still works. I haven't used it in ages," it said in Belle's voice.
"Since when did you have samurai armor?" Alex asked Belle.
"Oh, ever since I broke Carnifex's pylon two years ago. It gave me the armor's blessing, and I was able to summon it ever since."
"Who's Carnifex?"
"He was the guardian of the pylon of blades. In case you don't know what a pylon is already, it's simply a building connected to the universe. It floods out power based on its purpose, and there is a sort of super-powerful being designed to guard it. Defeat the guardian, get the pylon, get its powers, beat the Harbinger. Good business, really."
"Well, thanks for the info, Belle. Say, can you tell me where Jeremiah is?"
"Well, that's obvious. He's not in his room, and he's not in here, so he's with Heather. They would appreciate if you knock and wait for them to open the door..." --she took off her helmet and winked at him--"If you know what I mean." Dang right, Alex knew what she meant. The two shared a conspiring grin before Alex walked over to the other side of the room. He knocked first and waited for a moment. Jeremiah opened the door.
"Well, hello, Alex. What do you need?" Jeremiah let Alex in to the small, but comfy room.
"I wanted to talk to you about the thing that happened," Alex asked.
"When I turned you into wind?"
"Yeah."
"Like this?" Jeremiah reached for his arm. Alex jumped back with a yelp of surprise, then glared at Jeremiah as the young adult chuckled.
"Don't worry so much. Watch, Heather doesn't even flinch." Jeremiah grabbed Heather's hand without warning, and her arm turned into one of a giant lizard's.
"Hey, it's reptilian this time," Heather commented.
"Yeah, that's interesting," Jeremiah responded. "Maybe it doesn't always turn out the sa--"
"Will you please just listen!?" Alex cried out. Jeremiah immediately stopped, and the two looked at him with their full attention.
"Okay. Touch my arm again." Jeremiah slowly and gently, serious as a funeral, put his hand on Alex's shoulder. Power shot from the point of contact through Alex's entire body, and his arm seemed to turn to white and unravel. It condensed again, becoming a sort of cloud. Alex began transforming, his body becoming no longer solid and his legs turning into a spiral. His clothes disappeared along with his normal body.
"Awesome," Alex whispered, but it came out as more of a howl of wind. He looked at his huge, cloudy hands. Thunder struck along where his veins would normally be. He looked at Heather. "Is there a mirror in this room?" he asked. His voice sounded like some sort of machine. It was like his vocal cords were replaced by streams of wind. Heather nodded, and stepped over to her drawer. She pulled out a hand mirror and placed it in Alex's palm.

(That's for reference to his look. It's Morphling from DotA 2)
"I look...different, to understate like heck," Alex rumbled. He set the hand mirror back down on the bed. "How long will this last?"
"It'll last until I either stop paying attention or my power runs out and I faint," Jeremiah answered. Alex nodded, then tried to walk. It was nothing like walking, more sort of an...ambient floating. He hovered, face-first, across the room, slithering almost like a snake. He opened the door and thanked Jeremiah. As he went back to the training room, Jeremiah followed, most likely so he could keep his concentration on him.
Belle was still there, clad in her black armor. She seemed like she was about to say something, but the surprise of seeing a cloud beast cut her off. "Is that Alex?" she asked. Alex nodded, his head feeling weightless and his movements floaty.
"What can you do?"
"I think I'm a storm cloud," Alex tried. He thrust his hand at Belle, and a great blast of light shot from his palm and into Belle's armored chest. She stumbled for a moment, but regained her balance.
"You're a storm cloud," Belle confirmed, then hit her torso with her fist. She was gesturing for Alex to hit her again. He shot another bolt, which her armor perfectly protected her from. She gestured again, and Alex shot two more bolts. "Your armor completely protects you," he eventually observed.
"Great! That means it's working," Belle laughed, then raised her arms up. Her armor disconnected from her and reconnected three feet to her left. It walked over to the wall and stood there.
"Mis amigos, we are approaching Scar Shi's island. It's the one with the mountain, tengo razon? Please report to the eating room."
Penny ran in, took one look at Alex, frowned, the shook it off and followed the others to the eating room. Once everyone was gathered, August asked everyone to arm up.
"Let's do this," Belle encouraged, her armor walking up to her and arming her. August stood in a cross position, and his armor flew in from his room and attached itself to him. Heather grabbed her bow, Alex grabbed his staff, and Penny pulled up a crossbow.
"Nice 'bow," Heather complimented.
"Aw, gee, thanks," Penny responded. Jeremiah threw his hands up, not having a weapon, and Belle high fived him, turning into Silverhorn.
"Jump!" August shouted, opening the door. It revealed an island with a mountain, which the Destined assumed they were to jump to. They did so, and after a moment of falling, landed on the side of the mountain.
"WELCOME TO MY DOMAIN!!!" They heard a voice shout.
