Mackenzie PoV

We all got out of the van and was at a cemetery. ''Whose grave is it?'' Alec asked.

''Mary Milligan. Born in January 10, 1882, died January 10, 1878'' Izzy answered and continued to llok for the grave.

''What are we looking for?'' Clary asked.

''Cache of weapons. Stashed here with Mrs Milligan'' I replied.

''Why are there Shadowhunter weapons in a churchyard?'' Clary asked.

''Because all of the ancient religions recognized demons. Or at least they used to'' Izzy explained.

''They forgot about the threat because we've been here to protect them. Typical mundane failure of imagination'' Alec said, making me sigh annoyed.

''Are you saying we did too good a job? You just can't let up, can you?'' Izzy questioned her brother, starting an argument.

''You know what Alec....Why don't you go check on the angel?'' my brother asked Alec, while me and Izzy stick together and Jace and Clary talked.

''Excellent'' Izzy smiled when her phone beeped. ''He's home. I'm out of here'' Izzy told us and left.

''Aren't you coming with us?'' Clary asked.

''I wouldn't miss it for the world, but I got to find out how we can get into the vampire's lair'' Izzy replied and left.

''Jace, Mack. Over here'' Alec yelled. I walked towards Alec, followed by my brother.

''Yeah?'' Jace asked.

''We're crossing a line into vamp territory'' Alec told us.

''Yeah, that's the point. Come on Alec, cheer up. It's going to be fun'' Jace said, playfully hitting Alec's arm.

''Damn it Jace. Just thing this through. You don't even like this guy. This isn't about the mundane. This is about Clary'' Alec said and it was true. ''Are you so desperate to get laid, you'll risk killing us?''

''Wow...there's so much in that, that was wrong. I'm gonna pretend I didn't hear it'' my brother said and was about to walk off but Alec stopped him.

''That's the problem. You're not listening. Not to this or anything else I've said tonight. You don't know this girl. Why do you trust her?'' Alec asked.

''Is this about her being Valentine's daughter? Alec, we've been through this'' my brother said, but his parabatai looked away. ''Alec, look at me. You can trust her or not. I don't care. That's not my business. But if you don't trust me-'' Jace was cut off by Clary.

''Jace! Alec! Mackenzie! I think I found it!'' The 3 of us walked where Clary was and she was at Mary Milligan's grave. ''Beloved servant? Who wants that on a headstone?'' she questioned.

''Someone who is in service to a greater cause than themselves'' Alec said.

''At least she is now'' my brother added, pulling out his stele. ''Abracadabra.''

''Wait, you people actually say that?'' Clary asked.

''No Clary, we don't'' I replied, helping the boys open the top of the gravestone. Once we did, we saw the weapons.

''Where's Mrs Milligan?'' Clary asked, taking a sword.

''Don't touch that. You don't know how to use it'' Alec said.

''What? Like at Pandemonium when I killed that demon?'' Clary replied sarcastically.

''You didn't-''

''Alec. I'm gonna show her the way to use it. Do you see what you need in here?'' my brother asked, while I grabbed some daggers.

''No. There's no bow here. I need one. I have to rune some arrows. I got to go'' Alec said, starting to walk away.

''How are you going to get back in the Institute?'' I asked.

''Go in the back. Won't bother me if I'm alone'' he said.

''Ok, good. Mack and I can finish up here'' Jace said and looked back at the weapons and Alec stilld hasn't left yet.

''I understand what we need to do. And I trust you, parabatai. But don't doubt me, no matter what I said'' Alec told my brother.

''It's already forgotten. I'll see you at dawn'' Jace said.

''At dawn'' Alec replied and left, but before I left.

''Can I go with you?'' I asked.

''What? Why?'' Jace questioned.

I didn't know what to say, but luckily, Alec helped me. ''It's ok Jace. I'll take care of her. Just go train Clary''. My brother nodded his head and I smiled.

I walked towards Alec. ''Thank you'' I sighed.

''No probelm'' he smiled.
