Chapter 12

Alec PoV

I was heading back to the Institute but Mack stopped me. ''Alec''.

''What?'' I looked at her.

''It's Clary's phone'' she said and I heard it ringing.

''Answer it'' Jace walked. He actually came. Mack answred it and put it on speaker.

''Hello?''

''Thank god it's you, Mack. It's me Simon''.

''Where are you? Where's Clary?'' Jace asked.

''I don't know. Some Chinese restaurant and-'' I lost track when he started speaking too fast.

''Just calm down. Just tell us what you see'' Jace ordered.

''Uh Uh, we're definitely on a pier. There's a ton of water. Uh I see lockers and Oh, my I'm in some sort of torture chamber. There's claw marks all over the wall'' Simon described.

''Werewolves'' Mack suggested.

''That's possible'' I told her.

''Okay, Simon, you need to get more specific. Tell us what you see. Help us find you'' Jace said.

''There's nothing else that can help Wait, hold on! Hold on. I'm at the Jade Wolf Chinese Restaurant on the pier at Greene St.....And they have really inexpensive cocktails....Just hurry, just hurry'' Simon begged.

''You need to create a diversion. Stall them'' Jace told Simon.

''How? All I have are clothes and a lighter'' Simon panicked.

''Start a fire, Simon'' Izzy suggested.

''That never works! Have you ever seen an action movie?'' he asked, making me roll my eyes.

''We're on our way'' Mack hung up and Jace and Izzy left first then I followed. ''Alec'' I heard Mack.

''Yeah?''

''Will you be fine about this?'' she asked.

''Yeah. I think so'' I said and followed Jace and Izzy.

Mack PoV

We arrived at the place and there was smoke. ''Izzy, Mack, you find Simon. Alec and I will find Clary'' my brother said and he and Alec left.

''Where would Simon be?'' Izzy asked and I saw the only building that has the smoke coming out.

''Over there Izzy'' I pointed at the window. Me and Izzy walked to the window and Izzy threw her whip, and opened it. Izzy climbed up and got Simon out. Then we saw Clary, Alec and Jace.

''Simon!'' Clary ran up to Simon to hug him.

''I hate to break up this little reunion, but we got a bunch of werewolves trying to kill us so maybe we should get going'' my brother told them.

''Wait, wait, the box. My backpack. I think I left it at the loft''Clary said.

''No, we've got it. I didn't screw up everything'' Alec looked at Jace.

''Let's get out of here, then'' Simon began to walk, but Isabelle stopped him.

''Wait, Simon! Whatever you do, do not make any fast moves'' Izzy told the mundane, then I heard growling. I looked ahead and saw werewolves.

''This can't be good'' my brother said, while we were taking out our weapons. I looked behind and saw more werewolves.

''We're surrounded. Everyone, stay together'' Alec said. The door opened and saw the alpha heading towards us, but a werewolf attacked the alpha.

''He's challenging the alpha. He's helping us!'' Clary yelled.

''Or cutting in line to kill us'' Simon suggested.

When both werewolves were done, I saw the alpha on the ground, dead. Then the werewolf that helped us, turned back to his human form. ''Luke?'' I questioned and everyone turned to me.

''You know him?'' my brother asked and I nodded. The rest of the werewolves howled, transformed into their human forms and bowed down to Luke.

''What's happening?'' Clary asked.

''When a werewolf kills the alpha, he becomes the new alpha'' Jace explained.

''Luke's the alpha now'' I added and Clary took a step but Jace held her back. ''Jace, it's ok. I know him and so does Clary'' I said and Clary went over to Luke, then Luke fainted. I ran over to him, kneeling down beside Clary. Few minutes later Jace knelt down beside him. ''Institute or-''

''Someone else'' my brother said. ''Do you want to come or-'' I looked at Alec and Izzy.

''I'll probably report back to the Institute. Just make sure Luke stays alive'' I told my brother and he, Clary and Simon went to the car with Luke.
