"No quicker way to travel than by floo powder," said Arlin, grabbing a handful with one hand while the other held his Hogwarts acceptance letter.

Mr. Beryl did the same, and Mrs. Beryl followed. Kataleen took some, albeit sheepishly, with the letter in her other hand, before gathering around the fireplace.

"Diagon Alley," Arlin said, loud and clear, before letting go of the powder and vanishing after a bright green light.

Mrs. Beryl smilingly ushered her forward. "Go on, now. Don't be shy. Just say the place very, very clearly, okay?"

Kataleen nodded, stepping on the fireplace. She tossed her black cloak at her back before saying, "Diagon Alley," very clearly.

After a bright green light that nearly blinded her, Kataleen found herself in a place full of witches and wizards crowding around various shops. Wands and cauldrons in display, Kataleen knew this was Diagon Alley.

Something flashed beside her, and she turned around to see Mr. and Mrs. Beryl, a smile on their faces.

"Nice job, for your first time," she heard a voice say, and saw Arlin come out of the crowds.

Kataleen smiled. "Thanks, then, Arlin."

"Well, then? Come on, and we're going to make this nice and quick," said Mrs. Beryl. "Kataleen, dear, what's first on your list."

"Um, a list of textbooks," she said. "Potions, and some others."

"Oh, who else to go to than our trusted friend, then? Let's go," said Mr. Beryl leading the way through the crowds. Then they stopped short.

"Um, I made a mistake. Before we go there, Gringotts is this way," he said with a low chuckle, going right.

Kataleen took the liberty to look around. Everyone was busy. She saw a shop with owls and a bat. One owl looked at her intently, and never did take its eyes off. For a strange reason she felt connected to the bird.

"Kataleen, come on!" Arlin called, seeing her just stop.

Kataleen looked his way, then at the owl. She gave the owl a smile before running after the rest, struggling to keep up with the family's long strides.

"Here we are," said Mr. Beryl entering the building. They walked forward. Upon seeing Kataleen looking around curiously he added, "They're goblins."

"Oh," she replied, as they stepped forward.

"Kataleen Wilton's with us. We were wondering if --"

"Her inheritance." The one before them got off his seat and led the way to a cart, holding a gas lamp with him. As soon as all were riding they took off, and stopped in front of a room.

"Hold this." He tossed Kataleen the lamp, and she nearly dropped it. Mr. Beryl next handed the little man the keys before he can ask for it.

"Whoa," Kataleen could only say, seeing the pile of gold coins inside.

"Dowley's Literature?" Kataleen inquired, seeing the sign on the busy shop they just entered.

"Well, no more trusted witch than her," said Mrs. Beryl as she led the way through shelves upon shelves of books.

"Here we are. Potion books," said Arlin, picking up a book from the shelf. Kataleen did the same, and looked at the writer's name with wide eyes.

"You look shocked," said Arlin, standing behind her.

"The name," she murmured, pointing at it. "R.E Dowley. That's the name on the spellbook Morion gave me!"

"Maybe he got it from here."
