(FYI it's beginning to get hard doing everything in narrator's POV. I MISSED DIZ.)
Kataleen
Hermione was driving me -- not just me, but all of us -- crazy the past few days. Ever since that epic prank two weeks ago Hermione was like this, forcing us to study. Darn, my eyes are still sore.
"Hermione, you're mad!" I whined. "I need my rest! My beauty sleep! Not only are a hundred black bags forming under my eyes, but the words are dancing off the pages!"
"Kataleen, the end of the year exams are coming next week! We've got to study!" she exclaimed, returning to a thick book.
"Hermione, you're overacting. We've been at it for weeks. I'm sure we'll all do fine," Harry said, mostly reassuringly, before his head dropped and he fell asleep on his open book. Well, at least I thought he fell asleep.
Hermione glared at him, then pointed her wand at his head. "Incendio!"
Harry screamed like a banshee and sat upright, beginning to panic. "Hermione, why?!"
Hermione causally returned to reading while I laughed so hard. I took out my water bottle from under the table and sprayed it all over his head. "There. Better?"
"Yeah," he grumbled, sitting back down with a sigh. "Is my hair still whole?"
"Yeah. All in one piece, mate," said Matrix, patting his back. Oh. I forgot he was sitting on Harry's right side. The seat on Harry's left side is where Ron should be, but it's empty.
"Where's Ron, by the way?" Albion, seated across me, asked. Al, you just voiced my thoughts. You're the best.
Hermione looked up from her book. "Probably stuffing himself. I heard from Arlin the twins were breaking into the kitchen with Ron."
"Speaking of which, where is Arlin?" I asked. I love Arlin like a brother and I actually felt worried I didn't see him for a full week. Well, not that it's surprising, since he also has his studies to attend to.
"Studying maybe, what else?" said a slightly muffled voice, and we looked at the doorway and saw Ron with frosting all over his mouth, mouth full of... chocolate? Oh Merlin, Ron. Don't come nearer with chocolate because...
"Hey, Ron. See you're stuffed," said Matrix. "Enjoyed with your brothers?"
"Oh, sure!" Ron happily nodded. "You guys should've seen it. There were piled high chocolate cakes and brownies floating in the air. Under the floating brownies there were cookies that seemed to never get emptied from a dispenser. And then there was a bunch of candies in the drawers!"
I groaned. Other than baby animals and duty calls my weak spot is sweets. Sweeeets... "Ron, don't go on. We're tying to concentrate over here..."
"Kat, if you saw everything, your mouth would water!" Ron said, licking the frosting off his cheeks. Yuck, but yum... Don't judge me 'cause I eat like that as well. "Everything was simply delish! Boy, if would've scooped up all the crepes and brought it up here if I had a bag! In fact, I came up just to get a bag to get it all --"
I wasn't able to hear the rest of his words. I clenched my fists and squashed a corner of the pages in my The Book of Spells, unable to think. I was starved. Ever since breakfast Hermione forbade us to eat, even joking it would help us lose weight. And it's already 4:00.
