Kataleen
The incident at the Halloween feast was an old issue now. Quidditch season has began. For some reason the news of Harry being seeker leaked and soon the entirety of Gryffindor was cheering on him for his upcoming first game today.
That didn't help with his nervousness at all.
The morning the day of the big game, Gryffindor vs. Slytherin, I woke up earlier than anyone else in my dorm, which wasn't normal for me. I scratched my head and looked at my clock. This is the usual time Hermione gets up, and her blankets are still thrown over her.
"Hermione," I yawned, putting on my glasses and going over to her bed to rock her out. "Get up. It's time for school."
But then as I pushed her, I realised she was all... soft. I removed the blanket covering her whole body -- that was understandable, the dorm was freezing today -- and gasped. Nothing but a pillow.
I scratched my head, picking up my hairbrush and combing it on the way to the dorm shower. Hermione wasn't there. Wow. She got up so early. I finished showering and dressed up in my robes before exiting, seeing Arlin by the fireplace.
"Hey, Arlin," I said, using a magic blow-dryer that instantly dried up my hair. "You're up early."
He looked at me, then smiled. "I had to do my homework. Forgot all about it last night. Knowing you, you're not a morning person."
"I just... got up. I guess it's because of the cold," I shrugged, running my brush through my hair. "Did you see Hermione? She's up quite early."
"I don't know. I haven't seen her."
"Oh. Okay," I nodded, tying my hair in a high ponytail. I got in my dorm and readied my stuff for the day. There's something missing. What could it be? I mean, I've got all my stuff with me.
Then I snapped my fingers. My box of empty parchment's outside! I ran outside quickly yet quietly to not wake up the official Hogwarts busybodies, knowing I left it at the common room after studying with Hermione last night.
Once there I stopped short. Arlin was browsing through a thick, glowing green book. "Arlin? What's that?"
He jerked back, then closed his book. "W-What?" Arlin said. "Oh. Just some studies."
I crossed my arms, clicking my tongue. "You're hiding something." I walked forward and tried to take it from him, but he snatched it away. "Give it! Hey!"
"No!" Arlin yelled, running outside the place. I just sighed, taking my box from a coffee table. I was walking back to my dorm when the door of the boys' dorm opened, revealing Harry and Ron all readied up.
"Good morning, Kat," said Harry and Ron with a smile, closing the door behind them.
I smiled as well. "Good morning. Have you guys seen Hermione?"
They looked at each other, then shrugged. "Maybe she went outside and about."
"Maybe," I said softly, just as the door opened behind them. Matrix was there.
"H-Hey," he said softly, making his way to the other side of the fireplace. "I saw a note left under your bed, Ron and Harry. Here."
He handed it over, and I crowded with them to read it. Harry read it out loud. "I'm going to do something very important. Hermione."
"Very important? This early in the morning?" Ron said.
"Strange," I murmured. "Let's go down now. Maybe we'll meet Hermione along the way."
