Frisk tossed and turned on Sans' lap. He stroked her hair gently in hopes of calming her down. She just turned her head towards him, tears running down her cheeks before whispering something.
"...........you...Sans..." Was all he caught. Sans frowned and hugged her tightly to his chest. She turned her head to the ceiling and whispered something again, but a bit louder this time. "I..........you...Sans.........sorry..."
The bones above his eyes creased together and he stroked her forehead, rubbing it soothingly. She was having a dream about Genocide, well at least Sans thought she was. Just then Frisk shot up panting heavily. He gently put his hand on her shoulder and she flinched and moved away from him curling into a ball on the other side of the couch, shaking in fear. Papyrus came running down the stairs.
"WHAT HAPPENED?!" Papyrus yelled.
Frisk looked at Papyrus, tears running down her cheeks. Papyrus' eye sockets widened and he rushed over to her side and hugged her tightly. She sobbed into his chest armour as he gently rubbed her back.
"What happened human?" Papyrus asked Frisk calmly.
"I-I h-had a-a nightmare a-about..." she cried harder, having a hard time breathing properly.
"Shhh... It is okay human, it was not real... It was just a dream..." Papy whispered stroking her hair soothingly.
Frisk sniffed and nodded her head, hugging Papy. Sans sat there knowing that the dream she had was about him. If it was about Genocide it was definitely about him. Every dream about Genocide was about him, and it was always him killing them. He sighed and pulled his legs up to his chest tears forming in his eye sockets.
'this is why i can never truly love... they'll always get nightmares which will make them scared of me...' Sans thought as he fought the tears that threatened to fall.
Papyrus looked over to see his brother on the verge of crying. He nudged Frisk and gestured towards Sans. She giggled quietly and a small smile spread across her face. She moved closer before jumping on Sans making the both of them tumble to the floor. Sans looked at Frisk in shock and dark blue blush covering his cheekbones. She tilted her head in confused until she realized the position that they were in. Frisk was sitting on Sans' hips, her hands gripping his undershirt tightly for balance. Her knees on either side of his hips and her striped shirt was slipping of her shoulder slightly. A deep red blush spread across Frisk's face as she scrambled to get off of Sans.
"Oh m-my god! Sans! I-I'm so s-sorry! I-I d-didn't mean t-to-" Frisk rushed before Sans put a boney finger on her lips, shushing her.
"frisk! it's okay, it's not like you did it purposely," Sans chuckled, standing up and ruffling her hair.
Frisk sighed in relief and smiled at him. Papyrus giggled and held back a squeal by running into the kitchen.
"uh papy? what are you doing?" Sans asked following behind him.
"I AM MAKING MY FAMOUS SPAGHETTI!" Papyrus yelled. Sans shook his head and chuckled.
"try to put only edible things in it this time," Sans said. Papyrus scoffed.
"Can I help you make spaghetti this time?" Frisk asked as she walked into the kitchen.
"OF COURSE HUMAN!" Papyrus smiled as Frisk walked over and jumped up on the counter swinging her legs.
Sans smiled. He always loved her adorable nature. Someone like her never should have had to go through this horrible world filled with danger and constantly fighting for your life but Frisk had a hidden strength beneath that adorable exterior. She wasn't like the others in the other timelines. Their hearts and souls were filled with hatred and anger. Frisk's heart and soul was filled with love, hope and determination. She was one of the few who was a true pacifist and violence never once crossed their mind during a fight. Sans smiled softly as Papyrus grabbed the ingredients for the spaghetti and Frisk told him what was edible and what went in spaghetti.
"Papyrus you can't put glitter in spaghetti!" Frisk giggled.
"BUT WHY HUMAN? GLITTER MAKES THE SPAGHETTI SPARKLE!" Papyrus protested.
"Glitter will make you sick," Frisk hid her mouth behind her hand hiding her grin. Papyrus grumbled but put the glitter away.
"OKAY HUMAN! SINCE YOU KNOW HOW TO COOK SPAGHETTI YOU CAN SHOW ME HOW HUMANS COOK SPAGHETTI!" Papyrus announced moving out of the way so Frisk can take over.
She shrugged and jumped off the counter grabbing an empty pot and turned on the stove closest to her before filling the pot with water and placing it on the warm stove. She started reaching for the other pot that Papyrus was previously using and Sans noticed that she was too short and the pot was going to fall on top of her. He quickly ran over and picked Frisk up and put her on his shoulders. She smiled and grabbed the pot thankful for the extra height and directed Sans towards the garbage can. She dumped the sauce Papyrus made into the garbage making Papyrus gasp.
"WHY DID YOU DO THAT HUMAN?!" Papyrus yelled a bit hurt.
"Papy I saw you sneak some glitter into the sauce!" Frisk said sternly. Papyrus immediately shut up knowing that he was caught.
Frisk put the pot on the counter and got off of Sans asking him to put some noodles into the boiled water as she washed some tomatoes. Papyrus stood there watching as Frisk and Sans got to work making the spaghetti. Finally it was finished and Frisk put some noodles on a plate with sauce on top and handed it to Papyrus with a fork. He took a bite and his mouth dropped open.
"WOWIE HUMAN! THIS IS THE BEST SPAGHETTI I HAVE EVER TASTED! WELL BESIDES MY FAMOUS SPAGHETTI!" Papyrus exclaimed with a smile. Frisk smiled happily and hugged Papyrus.
