I could not help the jealousy that burned through my skull as I watch Sans and Frisk be...more lovey and stuff... I looked away and down at Chara who had stopped crying and calmed down and was now staring at the two intently.
"Are they always gonna be lovey like this?" Chara asked, looking over at me.
"What do you mean?" I questioned, tilting my head slightly.
"Wait so you're saying that they don't do this at home?" Chara said astonished.
"Of course not! They aren't together!" I exclaimed a bit of anger working it's way into my voice.
"Are you kidding?" Chara asked in astonishment.
"I'm not..." I looked down at my boots, playing with the straps.
"Oh... That's...surprising..." Chara said thoughtfully.
"How?" I looked over at her.
"They obviously like each-" Chara started but stopped short.
"I know that they like each other... I'm not an idiot like everyone thinks I am..." I laid my skull on my knees taking a deep shuddering breath. I felt Chara shift closer to me and wrap her arms around me.
"Papyrus I'm sorry..." she whispered. I gently brushed her off and stood up, briskly walking towards the door.
"hey bro where you goin'?" Sans' voice rang out behind me.
"I'm just going for a quick walk," I said quickly feeling tears run down my cheek bones.
I opened the door walking outside quickly. The second the door shut I took off running towards Snowdin, tears flying from my eye sockets.
'Stop being a big baby Papyrus! You know Sans likes Frisk! It shouldn't have been a surprise that Frisk likes him back!' I yelled at myself mentally, as I sped through Snowdin heading towards the ruins. I ran straight into the ruins without realizing and next thing I knew I was kneeling in a patch of buttercups. Great big tears continued to run down my cheek bones, staining them orange. I started ripping flowers from the ground screaming in anger. A thump of a rock hitting the ground and echoing through the cavern broke me from my anger filled trance. I looked around to see if anyone threw the rock but I could not see anyone. I looked up to see someone falling from the hole above. I quickly stood up and positioned myself to catch them. They softly dropped into my arms their weight only making me stumble slightly.
"Are you okay?" I asked them softly. They turned their head to look at me and their eyes went wide and they started to struggle. I noticed that they were human, I think? They had fluffy cat ears and a fluffy cat tail.
"Hey hey calm down I am not gonna hurt you, if I did not catch you, you would probably be dead from the impact of the fall," I told them.
The cat human seemed to calm down and I sat down still holding them before gently putting them on the ground. They blinked at me confusedly.
"Y-You're not gonna h-hurt m-me...?" they asked, their voice more feminine. I smiled and nodded.
"Us monsters are actually extremely friendly! I do not know what kind of stories you humans tell about us but I can assure you most of them are not true," I smiled widely. "Oh sorry I did not properly introduce myself. I am Papyrus."
"Hello Papyrus! I'm Kathrena. I'm guessing you're a skeleton, well I'm actually part monster myself," they said.
"Really?!" I asked astonished.
"Yep! My mother was a cat monster and my father was human. During the war my mother was killed and I ended up staying with my father because I was so young," Kathrena explained.
"Interesting. Um sorry for asking this but are you a girl or a boy?" I asked rubbing the back of my neck.
"I'm a girl, why do you ask?" she tilted her head.
"Well the other human I met, well it was hard to determine her gender at first... I have never really met any humans really... Last time I was on the surface I was just a baby bones," I told her.
"That's all right Papyrus! I'm assuming you're male then?" Kathrena giggled. Her laugh was like music to my ears.
"Yes very much so," I chuckled.
"Oh hey if you want you can call me Kat instead of Kathrena," Kat said shyly.
"Okay Kat. So how exactly did you fall down the hole in the first place, if you do not mind me asking."
"No not at all! Well because I'm a half-breed, I got bullied a lot. So this group of bullies chased me up Mt. Ebott and cornered me in this cave up there and pushed me into the hole. Honestly I'm kinda glad they did because my life on the surface was a living hell and if I didn't fall down here then I wouldn't have met you," Kat smiled at me warmly and I felt my cheek bones heat up slightly.
"If I was up on the surface I would have been your protector," I smiled, making and orange bone appear.
"That's so cool! But I have magic as well. I can control the elements, mainly air and fire though, and I have telekinesis, teleportation, telepathy, and I'm still learning how to shape-shift, but I can communicate with animals," she demonstrated by lifting up a nearby rock, which became surrounded in teal magic before briefly floating off the ground for a second then crashing back down. "Of course though my magic isn't very strong right now..." she looked down sadly.
"How about you come meet my friends! I am sure me, Undyne and Sans could teach you a thing or two about magic, maybe Chara could help too!" I exclaimed excitedly.
Kat smiled at the idea her tail twitching in anticipation. I stood up quickly holding out my hand for her to take. She grabbed it and I pulled her up and off the ground, and she stumbled forward losing her balance and falling against me. I quickly caught her and stood her upright and noticed that her cheeks were a pinkish colour which made me chuckle quietly. I took this time to examine her. She wore a baggy grey sweater that hung loosely on her shoulders and went down to her mid thigh and black leggings with black flats on her feet with no socks. She had dirty blond hair with a large blue streak with green at the tip on her right side of her head and a similar smaller one on her left side. She had a small pink heart necklace that hung just below her collar bones. Her eyes were a beautiful golden hazel and her eyelashes were long and underneath her left eye were four blue circles that ran along her cheek bone. I smiled and grabbed her hand with my boney one. Her face turned a dark pink. I turned around and bent down slightly.
"Jump on my back! We'll get there faster if I run us there," I looked back at her smiling.
Kathrena jumped on my back with a smile, and wrapped her arms around my neck loosely. I grabbed her legs and started full on sprinting towards the exit of the ruins.
A/N: I know I know, this is supposed to be a SansxFrisk fanfic but I don't want poor Papy to be lonely and I didn't feel like pairing him with Mettaton. So I paired him with my Persona/OC. Here's a picture in case my description was shit.
