Papyrus ran through the Ruins, Kathrena catching a ride on his back. Squealing and laughing, Kathrena held on more tightly so she wouldn't fall. Her tail was billowing behind them and her ears were practically flat on her head from the wind. Papyrus was laughing his little 'Nyeh Heh Heh' laughs as they ran from the Ruins into the Snowdin forests. Papyrus then stopped and put Kathrena down gently, laughing in puffs. Kathrena giggled at the sight of the out of breath skeleton standing beside her. Papyrus glared at her playfully and she put her hands up in mock defeat. Papyrus chuckled and they continued walking, Kathrena shapeshifting her feet into furry paws while Papyrus watched in amazement.

"Pretty cool huh?" Kathrena asked with a smirk.

"Super cool!" Papyrus replied excitedly.

"You want some?" Kathrena giggled.

"OH MY GOSH! REALLY?!" Papyrus shouted shaking with excitement.

"Yes really, you big silly goose," Kathrena laughed. "Now what kind of paws do you want?"

"Can I have the same ones as you?" Papyrus asked.

Kathrena nodded her head with a laugh. "Sure thing! Now just give me a minute, I've never really tried doing this on someone else before so don't get your hopes up."

Kathrena gently grabbed Papyrus' gloved hands and a shiver ran down down his spine. He closed his eyes shaking off the feeling and focusing his energy on her. His feet started to tingle and he felt the bones in his feet shift and change in size and get smaller, becoming more animal like. His newly formed paws started tingling with the feeling of pins and needles as skin and fur started to grow over the newly shaped bones. Suddenly Papyrus' skull and tailbone started to tingle as new bone started to form on his skull, and his tailbone stretched out getting longer and becoming more tail like. Papyrus felt Kathrena let go of his hands but she didn't  move from her spot. He opened his eye sockets meeting her hazel gaze and an orange blush spread across his cheekbones. Papyrus quickly looked down at his feet noticing the big black paws with strands of brown in the short fur. He smiled and looked up at Kathrena before hugging her tightly.

"Thank you! I love them so much!" Papyrus exclaimed in pure excitement.

Kathrena giggled and hugged him back with a smile. "Now we need to see if you can walk in them," she chuckled pulling away from the hug. Papyrus nodded and took a step and fell flat on his face. Kathrena burst out laughing before walking over to the fallen skeleton with ease and helping him up and out of the snow. Papyrus quickly brushed the snow off of himself and quickly looked around to see if anyone else saw his horrible fail.

"Okay let's start slowly. One step at a time, okay?" Kathrena said and Papyrus nodded.

Papyrus slowly took it step by step and in no time he was running through the snow with Kathrena hot on his paws. Soon they skidded to a halt in the small town of Snowdin. Kathrena looked at Papyrus worriedly.

"Should I get rid of the paws?" she asked him.

"Nonsense! This is you kind of magic and you should not have to hide it away!" Papyrus exclaimed.

"Are you sure?" she asked unsurely.

"Yes! Now come on! We need to hurry up, I am sure my brother is probably worried sick about me..." Papyrus said grabbing her hand and running towards Waterfall.

Kathrena stumbled after him giggling. She quickly caught her footing and started running alongside him, her tail flowing out behind her. She poked Papyrus' side and sped up ahead running towards the entrance of a cave which she assumed was the place they needed to go. She heard footsteps following behind her before something touched her back gently. Papyrus sped up and ran past her running into the cave entrance. Kathrena sped up to stay behind him following him all the way to their destination. She followed the skeleton as he weaved his way through the cave before slowing down before Kathrena realized and she bumped into his back.

"Sorry... I'm sorry..." Kathrena said backing away from Papyrus.

"I need to warn you about my friends, they can be a bit...outrageous..." Papyrus said as he turned around rubbing the back of his neck.

"What do you mean?" she asked tilting her head in confusion, her ears falling to the side.

"Well the only humans who have been down here are Chara and Frisk and since you are a half monster they might react unexpectedly..." Papyrus said, his boney tail twitching.

"Well whatever happens we can handle it together!" Katherna encouraged making Papyrus smile.

Papyrus and Kathrena continued walking towards Undyne's house, Kathrena following closely behind Papyrus. Slowly the house came into view and Kathrena grabbed Papyrus' hand, feeling anxiety fill her every sense and needed something to ground her to reality, which happened to be Papyrus' hand. Papyrus blushed orange and gave her hand a squeeze as they got closer to the scaley building. They walked up to the door and just as Papyrus was about to knock on the door it opened showing a very stressed fish lady. Kathrena quickly hid behind Papyrus hoping her dark clothing would conceal her as she peaked at the fish lady examining her. She had blue scales and bright red hair tied in a messy ponytail, she wore a black v-neck tank top and dark blue leggings with black boots. She also wore an eye patch over her left eye and she had extremely sharp yellow teeth.

"Papyrus where the hell have you been?!" Undyne yelled as Kathrena cowered behind Papyrus, shaking in fear.

"Undyne what are you talking about?" Papyrus questioned.

"You've been gone for hours! We've been worried sick! Where the hell did you go?!" she asked clearly unhappy with him.

"I went for a walk in the Ruins-"

"The Ruins?!"

"Another human fell while I was there-"

"Where are they now?"

"Well if you would let me talk I would tell you!" Papyrus shouted making Undyne shut up. "Now I need you to have an open mind, she is not exactly completely human..." Papyrus grabbed Kathrena's hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze before she hesitantly walked out from behind Papyrus blushing nervously. Undyne backed away in surprise and a spear started forming in her hand. Kathrena panicked and her right hand and her eyes started glowing teal with her magic as she backed away from both Papyrus and Undyne. Papyrus quickly stood between Kathrena and Undyne, putting his hands up to show her that he wasn't going to hurt her. Kathrena's eyes faded back to normal and the magic around her hand dissipated as she threw herself into Papyrus' arms sobbing.
