A loud knock emitted from Sans' door, the sound vibrating around the room. Sans sat up on his mattress that laid on the floor, and rubbed his eye sockets.

"who is it?" he called.

"Sans? C-can I ask you something?" Papyrus spoke softly from the other side of the door.

"sure buddy, come in," Sans told him relaxing back onto his mattress.

The door slowly opened and Papyrus walked into the room. He closed the door behind him and rubbed the back of his spine.

"what's up papy?" Sans asked Papyrus. Papyrus looked up and took a breath.

"Have you ever heard of anyone named Gaster...?" Papyrus asked nervously, unable to meet Sans' gaze.

Sans stopped dead and stared at his brother, his white pupils disappearing completely.

"papyrus...where...did you...hear that...name...?" he asked slowly.

"S-see when I h-had a-a n-n-nap on th-the couch... Th-this weird skeleton m-man came to me wh-when I g-got lost and s-started talking to me..." Papyrus stuttered, Sans' reaction to his question scaring him.

Sans' left eye started glowing blue as smoke came out of it. He started whispering something unintelligible and Papyrus shook so hard his bones rattled. He wanted to leave but he felt as if he was rooted to the ground. Then a soft knock vibrated on the door before it opened slightly and Frisk poked her head inside. She immediately noticed Sans and quickly ran over to him. Papyrus stood there watching, frozen in fear. Frisk gently touched Sans' shoulder and he looked at her, tears flowing from his eye sockets and down his cheekbones. Frisk smiled sadly and hugged Sans tightly, burying her face in his sweater. Sans froze but after a few seconds he hugged her back. Frisk smiled and so did Papyrus. Papyrus slowly walked over to Sans and Frisk and wrapped his arms around both of them. Sans looked at Papyrus and gently pulled away from the hug. He sighed and rubbed the back of his skull before standing up.

"i think it's time...that i tell you guys about...gaster..." Sans said slowly, not wanting to really talk about Gaster.

Both Frisk and Papyrus nodded their heads and got comfortable. They turned their full attention towards Sans and only Sans. Sans sighed and for comfortable.

"well um let's see... where do i start? gaster is well mine and papyrus' father, and he took care of us after our mother suddenly disappeared when i was about five or six and papyrus was just a baby... he was the royal scientist at the time...and he experimented on me and papy but we didn't understand at the time so we didn't mind... we loved him of course and one day he didn't come home... papy was cooking spaghetti and i was helping out but then..." Sans trailed off tears running down his cheekbones. He took a second then continued telling his story.

"we found out the next day that gaster fell into the core... no one knew if he actually died but everyone just assumed he did... but since he came to papy in the dream world proves that he isn't dead..." Sans finished wiping away his tears.

Frisk hugged Sans burying her face in his sweater to hide her tears as Papyrus wiped his tears away with his scarf. Frisk tried to pull away but Sans pulled her back to him and held her tightly. Frisk smiled and Sans gently wiped her tears away. Papyrus smiled at the scene in front of him and quietly stood up and walked out of the room. Sans smiled sadly. Frisk smiled back and hugged him again.

"I know how much you truly cared about you father no matter what he did to you..." Frisk whispered.

"i don't understand why dad would go to papyrus... he was too young to remember him..." Sans sighed.

"It doesn't matter why... All that matters is that he's alive," Frisk told Sans with a small smile.

Sans smiled and hugged Frisk again. She smiled and nuzzled her face into Sans' undershirt, and she wrapped his sweater around herself. Sans sat there frozen a light blue blush covering his cheekbones. Frisk closed her eyes, smiling as she snuggled deeply into his shirt, not noticing Sans' blush. Sans smiled slightly and stroked the back of Frisk's head.

"I met Gaster once... He was extremely nice to me..." Frisk told Sans softly with a small smile.

"oh that's good... wait what?!" Sans asked in surprise.

"Sans it's fine..." Frisk giggled slightly.

Sans shook his head.

"I see where you get your good looks from..." Frisk mumbled.

"what?" Sans tilted his head.

"N-nothing! Nothing at all! I didn't say anything!" Frisk said quickly as she pulled away from Sans waving her hands in front of her face, which was a deep red from embarrassment.

"uh... okay...?" Sans questioned.

Frisk got up, her cheeks flushing dark red as she walked out of the room quickly. Sans sat there for a moment before slowly getting up and walking after Frisk. Frisk ran past Papyrus and out the door into the cold air of Snowdin. Running through the snow, Frisk cursed silently.

"How could I be such an idiot?!" Frisk yelled out loud.

Frisk punched the closest thing to her which happened to be a tree. She yelled out in pain and fell to the ground, clutching her fist tightly. Tears streamed down her face as she laid there. Frisk closed her eyes and sleep washed over her.
