Chapter 16

"Do you remember Lady Carrie Darth's Journal ?" Emilia asked .
"More like Dr. Perseus's ." Bera pointed out .
"Whatever ! Take it out !" Emilia said . Edward pulled out 'The Journal' from his pocket bag which he carried to the cabinet .
"Look at the symbol !" Emilia said ," The very same symbol was there on Dr. Perseus' cabinet ! And on my necklace too !"
"Where did you get that ?" Barbera questioned .
"It is a family heirloom from my father's side ." Em explained
"Which means that you are the decendant of Lady Carrie Darth !" Edward said .
"What ?!" They shouted .
"Shhh ! Native Americans had a tribe and each tribe had a main symbol like for lady Carrie Darth it is the tent with dots around it . The tent with dots around it means a village . Each family in the tribe has a specific symbol like for Lady Carrie Darth it is the semi circle and the horse . These symbols are used to identify people from the tribe . These symbols are passed on from ancestor to decendant . For women it was a necklace like yours, I think atleast the pendants are . For men it was the drawing on their arms made by the specific mud and herbs which is the speciality of the tribe . That is why I know she is a decendant of Lady Carrie Darth." Edward explained .
"How do you know all that ?" Barbera asked curiously .
"Well , when I was looking up Dr. Perseus' bookshelf . I came across this book which was written in Spanish . Though I learnt it for three years I could not translate the whole thing and besides we didn't have time ." Edward answered .
"Children your dinner is getting cold !" Mrs. Hunter called .
"We better go before my mom roars like a tiger." Edward said trying to break the tenson with a joke but failed miserbly
They sat down on the table in silence , the dining room was very quiet . The adults were frightened to see their children quiet because it was very uncharecteristic of them .
But then there arose a wuestion that caught Nate thinking .
"Dad , how did you know where we were ?" Nate asked .
"Barbera told me of course ! She came at 5:00 in the morning. Woke the whole house with her scream , not that anyone else stayed here other than Darcy and I." Mr. Samuels answered .
"Bera you weren't in the station ?!" Edward asked choking his bacon .
"Ed ! You're supposed to chew the food not swallow it !" Emilia scolded .
The adults rolled their ryes and got up from the table.
"That *cough* is *cough* not *cough**cough* is not the point *cough* *cough* *cough*" Edward coughed .
"Oh Ed !" Barbera said huffing and brushing his back to make him stop coughing.
"You never answered my question !" Edward reasoned .
"Well , you see , I was examining the fireplace but I noticed there was no grate in it niether was there any wood I found that suspicious . So I went in to examine it , the fireplace was bare and it look as if it was never used at all ! I then heard voices and looked up to see a shaft in the corner of the chimney . I climbed up to hide , I heard you , Nate, shouting and I even heard the fight which caused a sudden comotion and that is when I jumped and hit the back of the shaft which was an opening to a tunnel . I was walking through it I saw a big hollow opening which I recognised as our swimming pool which caught my eye and I got in and found myself in the pool with no water , of course , it's winter. As you know I ran inside and screamed." Barbera explained .
"So you didn't follow the tunnel ? Or it ended there ?" Nate asked .
"There was more but I didn't follow it. Saving you was my priority !" Barbera reasoned .
"Okay ..... So that's what the second opening of our pool did ! But it was closed ....." Nate began .
"It was fake !" Barbera said
"But I kicked it open so there goes our fake closing ." Bera continued .
"We must check it out !" Nate said .
"Yeah !" They agreed.
"Which reminds me kids ! Your hearing is on the 24th of December 5:00 pm . Which is day after tommorow ." Mr. Samuels said walking to the table to pick up his phone which he had left there . He looked very dissappointed in them .
"We must also look for evidence to give our lawyer !" Nate said .
"Why us ?" Barbera asked .
"Because the police are dumb and we wanna finish this hearing off in one go." Nate answered .
"We will have to do both together . Bera and I can look for evidence while the two of you can discover where the tunnel ends ." Edward said .
"Why us ?" Emilia and Edward questioned .
"You'll find out when you do ." With that Edward and Barbera walked off hand in hand leaving Nate and Emilia alone .
"I'm going to bed . If you could show me the way ....." Emilia began .
"Yeah , sure ." Nate said as he stood up . And walked up the stairs , looking at Emilia from the corner of his eye .
Emilia's room was on the west side of the house , it was a guest room . The left side had books to which Emilia payed least attention to . She then looked outside through the window.
It was a full moon day , the moon was smiling down from the sky and the stars dancing with happiness.
Emilia closed her eyes .
"Dad , I know you are watching please help me find the right path through this tough time. Please help me , you always told me that help comes to you when you are in the deepest trouble . Please help me ." Em said .
She opened her eyes . Emilia layed down on the bed humming 'I wanna hold your hand' by the Beatles .
She later woken up by Barbera's agruement with Nate .
Emilia got up and stretched ' This is gonna be a long day' , she thought .
"What was all that commotion about ?" Emilia asked as she entered the kitchen .
"Oh never mind !" Nate said before walking off .
"Hump ! He's the one to tell me . As if he isn't ." Barbera grumbled .
"What happened ?" Emilia asked .
"Never mind !" She said .
"What's with the never minds ?" Em asked amused .
"I said NEVER MIND !" Barbera shouted .
"Okay ! I get it !" Em said .
After brakefast was over , mind you it was a short one becsuse everyone was in a bad mood .
"You go through the tunnel . We go to the shop where Em worked . We get back by 7:00 to discuss and then give information to our lawyer so he can prepare ." Edward said before he grabbed Barbera and drove off .
Both Emilia and Nate walked to the pool in silence . Nate opened the second opening of the pool and guestured to Emilia to get in before himself. After he got in , he closed the opening of the pool and both walked in silence .
But it wasn't even 15 mins since they started walking but they came to a halt . In front of them was a huge barrier made of stone . It looked like the tunnel had come to an end .
"I guess this is it then ." Nate said before turning back .
"No way !" Emilia said .
"What ?" Nate asked
"Look !" Emilia said as she pointed to the roof .
