Chapter 19

"But how do we open it ?" Emilia asked feeling the wall.
"Maybe we push it !" Nate said as he thought it was a brilliant idea.
"Right !" Emilia said pushing wall to the left .
Nate pushed the wall to the right , the wall did not budge. The pushed the fake door from both sides and it didn't move at all . Why would it ?
"Nate ....." Emilia said finally realising their mistake.
"Yeah !" He said too absorbed in pushing the wall.
"To which direction are you pushing the wall ?" Em askef sweetly.
"To the right !" He replied unhesitantly.
"Aren't we supposed to push in one direction ?" Emilia asked in a sickly sweet voice .
Nate finally hit realisation , his mouth formed an 'O' .
"Exactly !" Emilia said
"You said we were to push towards the right !" Nate said.
"No you idiot ! I said right as in okay right not the direction right !" Emilia said .
"Okay we go right first , if not the left !" Nate said .
The both pushed yo the right , the wall wouldn't budge , they pushed to the right still the door wouldn't budge .
"How does this thing open ?" Emilia said in frusteration.
"I have no ideeaaaaa ...." Nate began but stopped short. He had just placed his hand on one of the topmost stones of the wall and it had slid in.
"Woah !" He said . He placed his hand on other stones but they never moved.
Emilia placed her hand into the hole and beneath on the ground she felt something hard and cold. She pulled the object out.
"It's a key !" She said
"To what ?" Nate asked examining the gold plated key slowly.
"Maybe the door !" Emilia said suddenly.
"It's too small to fit the lock for the door ." Nate explained .
That is when Emilia noticed a major detail .
"Look !" She pointed to the jutting out frame of the wall that they hadn't noticed before.
Emilia pushed the wall to a side , though she couldn't see anything through it she decided to check it out .
"Come on !" She said dragging Nate with her.
Em passed through the hole followed by Nate who closed the wall behind him. It was too dark to see anything inside , Emilia felt around .
Suddenly she felt something hard and oily .
"Wax ...." she whispered .
"Nate you have a lighter ?" Em asked .
"No. But I have two twigs stck on my shoe." He said .
"Anything would do !" Emilia replied.
Nate lifted his foot and plucked out two twigs .
"There goes another pair of my shoes." He said with a sarcastic look which fortunately Emilia did not see because if she had , she might have put up another fight. She was becoming frusterated and annoyed every minute .
Nate started rubbing the two sticks against each other slowly there was a smell of burning and soon sparks flew bye and after sometime Emilia put the candel near the sparks and it caught fire.
She looked around with the candle , she then noticed that instead of being a mill inside it was a study altogether .
There was a desk , a carpet on the floor , a small book shelf and of course a lamp.
She lit the lamp and noticed that the mill seemed of no importance , there was no trace of Lady Carrie Darth's symbol or necklace.
Nate on the other hand was very interested in the carpet .
"Nate come and look for something." Emilia said .
"Emilia look here !" He said pointing to the carpet.
It was a red carpet with golden designs , to an outsider they were just designs but for them they were symbols.
"How do we interpret this ?" Emilia asked she refused to call Edward because he would most probably call them incompitent .
"Look at them carefully Em , they're not symbols ! They're English letters ! Just well.... twisted !" Nate said , Emilia couldn't help but groan. Not again she thought.
"Okay , so it goes like YREVE PETS TATH UOY EKAT SEKAM A ECNEREFFID." Nate said looking at it carefuly the words were fine prints on the carpet woven with delicacy.
"If Doctor Perseus has done this then , we should decode it like the journal." Emilia said " Do you have a piece of paper and a pen ?"
"No , but we could tear it out from the journal." Nate suggested .
"No we can't the journal is our only proof . Let's decode it without that paper." She said
"YREVE means er every so this will be every step that you take makes a difference ." Emilia said triumphantly .
"Look more words !" Nate said pointing to the other side of the carpet.
"OREZ SAH ON EULAV WOLLOF EHT TENIBAC YEK ." Nate read .
"Oh this is tough ! Well here goes ...... OREZ means zero and this sentence is zero has no value follow the cabinet key."Emilia said .
"The cabinet key ? What can it show ?" Emilia said with a tone of surprise .
"If I'm not wrong he's talking about the degrees of the cabinet key and if according to him there is no value to zero then we should walk six steps to the north and three steps to the east ." Nate said .
"I'm telling you , your IQ is more than Einstine's ." Em said before standing up .
Nate chuckled and took hold Em's hand . He looked at her ," Let's do this !" He said .
"One"
"Two"
"Three"
"Four"
"Five "
"Six" They said in unision.
They then turned to the east judging by the position of the sun.
"One"
"Two"
"Three" They said in unision .
They turned the carpet over and found a wodden plank not kept together. Emilia bent down and picked up the plank and below it was a ladder .
Nate went in first with a lit candle , Emilia followed him after awhile.
They found themselves in a stone chamber which was freezing . As they walked closer the found themselves in front of a chest and old one made of brass with a small lock .
"How do we open this ?" Nate looked at the chest and took out the key which they had found .
He then walked up to the chest , placed the key into the lock and turned it . The lock opened and he looked at Emilia , she walked upto him and opened the chest .
In it was a precious necklace with a pendant made of lapis lazuli which was delicately placed on the the platinum chain .
"It's beautiful" Emilia said before hugging Nate .
Meanwhile things with Barbera and Edward wasn't going pretty well .
As soon as they has driven off Barbera realised that she had forgotten something .
"Ed turn back !" She said .
"Why ?" Ed asked .
"Because I forgot my phone !" Bera said
"Alright !" Edward sighed
As they were driving closer and closer to the destination they suddenly heard a bang from the house .
"Was that a gun shot ?"
