Michelle rolled over partially covering Richard's naked body with hers. She kissed him on the cheek and ran her hand down between his legs and took hold of his member. She liked the throb of the penis, as the remaining semen exited. They had made love for the past twenty minutes and although it felt good, there seemed to be something that was missing.

'You seem tense today', she said to him.

He looked at her. She looked even more beautiful after she'd had a shower. Her hair was wet and hung loosely, giving her a more natural look.

'It's just with everything happening on the news. It's kinda frightening'

'I know', she said, leaning further over him and gently kissing him on his lips. She reached back over to the bedside table and pulled two more tissues from the box. Wiped the semen from her hand and wiped the head of his penis.

'Why don't you go have a shower and I'll go make us a tea', she said after a moment of silence.

         'Yeah. That sounds good'

Michelle got out of bed, grabbed Richard's dressing-gown, wrapped it round her and left the room. She stopped to look back at Richard, he hadn't moved.

Once the door closed, Richard sat up in bed. Thoughts were sprinting through his mind. The country was changing, the people of the country were changing. If so much could happen in two days, what could he expect in a month. What would people think of him going out with Michelle. Both of them would be shunned, or worse, he could be putting Michelle in danger.

He had never said it, never wanted to admit it, but he loved Michelle and maybe, one day, when Junior was older, he may even propose to her. At least, that's what he had planned until the recent events had rocked the country.

After a moment, he got up and headed to the shower. He got in and enjoyed the warm water caressing his body. He was about to step out, when Michelle walked in.

          'You need to come downstairs'

He looked at her. He had never seen that expression on her face before, had no idea what to make of it.

He grabbed a towel, dried himself quickly and followed her. She lead him to the front room. The television was still on, from when he left it, only Michelle had paused it.

Richard could hear the kettle boiling in the kitchen and was distracted for a moment. He looked at Michelle, she was staring at the television screen, he followed her focus, then looked back at her.

          'What is it?', he asked

          'Look at the screen'

Richard turned back to the screen. The motionless picture was slightly blurred, he strained to focus on what Michelle might want him to see. He spotted it. To the right of the screen was a picture of Junior running with a girl. He looked around the picture, seeing a body on the ground and someone close to Junior flying forward as though they had been shot.

He dropped to the couch. 'What is this?'

Michelle pressed play. The scene played out. Junior went out of view. Other were falling as though being shot. Michelle paused it again.

        'It's the hospital'

        'When?'

'Recently, I guess. It was breaking news. All the press were already there, because, apparently, there's been some murders there'

'I have to ring him', he sprang up from his seat, his towel dropping back to the couch. He rushed over to the phone and started dialing a number.

After five rings, junior answered the phone.

        'Oh, thank God'

Michelle leant in to hear the conversation between father and son. She wrapped her arms around Richard's chest, feeling it was the right time to make physical contact. He leant back into her.

        'Hey dad'

'You alright? You were on TV'

'On TV, wow. I'm alright dad. As alright as I can be'

         'Where are you now?'

'I'm inside the hospital, trying to find mum'

          'I should come out there'

'No dad don't. It's not safe anywhere now'
