Prologue

Sunday 6th January 2030
10:30Levi Rats was permitted to leave the hospital early. Levi had been outside during the explosion and had been thrown to the ground and knocked unconscious. He knew he had got off lightly. When he eventually came round, the hospital had insisted he stay in for a full examination, which they stated they did for all head injuries.
With the terror that had swept the country throughout Saturday, the hospital became quickly inundated with casualties. The longer the night went on, the harder it was to justify having Levi take up a bed. Eventually, they decided if there wasn't any obvious repercussions from his head injury by the morning, he would be released with pain killers.
Levi had been keen to leave, he hadn't managed to get hold of his girlfriend, Rosita to let her know what had happened to him. He wondered if she had left him. She had only moved in, with their daughter, five days prior to the incident. Levi had spent most nights out, finding it difficult to engage with them on a personal level. While in the hospital, they were all he could think of and he couldn't wait to see them again.
Levi went to unlock the front door and realized it was already unlocked. This relaxed him, as he figured Rosita was in, waiting for him.
As soon as he entered the house he realized something wasn't right.
'Rosita?'
He wasn't sure what first triggered his fear, but before he could organize his thoughts, he was flying up the stairs to the bedroom. As though in a dream, with his head screaming at him, to stop, he dropped to his knees, next to his daughters dead body.
