Our parents held up a newspaper article. It was the picture if me and Shawn in the hospital. It was taken before I woke up. Shawn was kissing me as I laid unconscious. "I can explain." I said but my dad has always been stubborn. "I would love to hear you try." He said slamming the paper down on the table causing me to jump and other people in the restaurant to stare. "I fell and hit my head hard on the ground." I started. "I guess Shawn brought me to the hospital to be honest I don't know what happened after I fell. All I remember is waking up in a hospital room." I explained. "My baby are you alright?" My mom said hugging me. "I'm fine." I replied to my mom. My dad looked really mad. I tried not to say or do anything that would make him more mad. "Well you guys weren't supposed to decide when you go public with you relationship. And you defiantly shouldn't have done it like this." My dad yelled at us. Shawn seemed very mad but I put my hand in his to reassure him. "It's our relationship dad." I said calmly. "And we weren't even planning on going public yet. Someone took that picture. But I have no idea who." I looked at Shawn. "He said that it wasn't any of the guys and I trust them." I said. I was about to say something but Shawn cut me off. "I think carter took it." My parents gasped. "I thought he was dead." My mother cried. "Why would you think that?" I asked. "Melissa told us that he died in a car accident." My dad responded as my mom cried on his shoulder. "He's alive?" My dad questioned. "Yeah and he was the reason I was in the hospital." I said irritated. My parents seemed so much more happy to find out that carter was alive than they were to find out that I was. That's always how it has been. No matter what I did they cared more about Carter than me. My dad still seemed really angry as Shawn's parents were just there. "Let's talk wedding shall we?" Karen suggested. But my dad but in. "Why would Carter ever do something to put you into the hospital." My dad shook his head. Carter and I didn't get along really well when we were younger. But it got better in our teenage years and now it's the same thing. We fought a lot and my parents were always taking his side. "I don't know. Why would the perfect child ever do anything wrong right?" I was really angry at my parents. "You know that I didn't want an arranged marriage. But I have to do it. Why didn't you do this to carter huh?" They had no answer. "Let me guess because carter the perfect child can choose who he wants to marry because he will make a good decision right?" I yelled standing up. "We aren't allowed to go public with our relationship but I bet if it were carter you would have let him right?" I said my dad seemed very angry with me but the rage that I felt towards them was far greater. He opened his mouth to say something but I cut him off. "The relationship I have with Shawn is mine and not yours. You don't get to decide everything. I don't want the marriage to happen as soon as you guys have set it. But nobody ever asked us. I want this to happen on it's own. The love I feel for Shawn is real and by you guys rushing it," I paused. "It could all just slip away. And I don't want that to happen." Shawn took my hand in his and stood up with me. "I am going to go with my boyfriend of choice not of force and I don't care what you think. If you need to meddle in someone's life than go and meddle in Carter's but I'm done with you. When we decide that it's the right time for us to have our wedding than we will have it and if you can't accept that than don't come to the wedding." I started screaming at him causing everybody to stare at us. "You don't get to decide!" My dad yelled. "I just did." I yelled back. "So your gonna choose Shawn over your family?" My dad chuckled deeply. "Because that's not how it works." Shawn was so red and I could tell he wanted to say something but wouldn't because it's my battle. "Shawn is my family. Intact right now Shawn seems to be all the family I have. Don't you two ever think about my feelings? Have you ever once asked me how I feel? I'm going with Shawn weather you like it or not. And by the time we decide to get married well I can't guarantee you an invitation." I yelled and walked out of the restaurant. My dad flipped the table and stood trying to follow us but Shawn and I had already ran to our car. My dad was so angry but I could care less. "That was" he paused. "Wow," he chuckled. "I didn't know that you had that in you." He laughed. "Gee thanks." I smiled. "I didn't mean it like that it's just so shocking. All that sass coming out of you." He laughed. "I have had a bad day." I replied resting my head on Shawn's shoulder. "I have had a terrible day." I changed my answer. "I have had an awful day too." Shawn pouted. "We should get home and also look at knew houses because my dad is mad." Shawn laughed but I kept a serious expression. "Your kidding right?" I shook my head. "No he could break in and stab you for all we know." His phone rang and he picked it up. "He got the address?" Shawn almost yelled into the phone. "And he's on his way there." There was a pause. "Now"
