Avery's P.O.V.

The first week of school went by pretty fast. I can't believe that it's Friday already. Now, I'm mentally singing Friday by Rebecca Black. Pretty weird, right?

Every first Friday of the school year, we have a back to school party and I'm one of the party planners, so I have to plan for the party, but of course with Amber and Jake are helping me out with it.

Amber and I headed to the football field and sat down on the bleachers. I brought my laptop out and opened a file, which is the checklist for the party.

"So," Amber began, checking the list out. "What does this checklist have so far?"

I shrugged and handed her my laptop. She nodded slowly as she read the whole checklist.

Jake walked up in front of us. "Hey. Sorry I'm late."

I looked up at him and smiled. "It's cool." He sat down and took my laptop from Amber to see the checklist.

Jake's face lit up. "I have an idea."

"Shoot," Amber said. We both looked at Jake and we waited for him to tell this idea of his.

He smirked. "Shots. Vodka."

I exchanged glances with Amber and we both nodded.

"Yeah," I said. "There are those gelatin shot glasses in the supermarket, right?"

Jake stood up. "Yeah. Come on." He pulled my hand and helped me stand up.

Okay, here's the thing. I like Jake. He's really sweet and funny. Oh, I almost forgot good-looking. That's why he's the hottest guy in school. I have to admit, he's way more good-looking than Josh. I don't even know why I said yes to Josh. He's a player, what do I expect? Of course, I know that douche flirts with every girl he sees.

I should've known better

Amber stood up and the three of us left the field. We went to the parking lot and jumped into Jake's car.

Amber had called shotgun, so I have to stay in the back seat as Jake drove all the way to the supermarket, which is only about fifteen minutes away from the school and the dorms.

"So," Jake said, breaking the silence. "We get the gelatin shot glasses and go?"

"And the vodka," Amber reminded him.

"Oh, right."

We reached the supermarket in fifteen minutes. Jake parked his car and the three of us made out way inside the store.

"Shit," Amber muttered, staring wide-eyed at something, or someone.

Jake and I looked to where Amber was staring. The three of us ended up staring at a guy with blond hair and bluish green eyes. Darren Stark.

Here's the stitch. Darren likes Amber a lot, and Amber likes him too. Darren always asks her out, but Amber said she's playing hard to get around him. They look cute together, though.

Darren saw us and he winked at Amber. Amber, playing hard to get, rolled her eyes and turned away.

"I'll wait for you two outside," she said quietly. Before Jake or I could answer, she already stormed off.

Jake and I exchanged glances. "Let's go get the vodka already," I suggested.

He nodded and did what we came here for; buy the vodka and gelatin shot glasses.

After what it seemed like forever, we finally found those shot glasses, which were made out of gelatin. I paid for it. It's no big deal, since the students in Middleton are rich.
