Melody

I sighed deeply as the car skidded to a halt in front of the one place I dreaded to be, its old fashioned design brought shivers down my spine and made me shudder. I stared at the building, not noticing my adopted sister jump out of the car and start running towards here friends who were excitedly waiting for her.

"Bye Ruby!" My adopted mum called out towards her, then anxiously back towards me, I looked up at her, my discoloured eyes met her normal ones.

"Melody, you'll be fine, try and find some friends this year, i'm sure there are plenty of kids out there willing to be friends with you."

"Well come with me and announce that to everybody, i'm sure it will be a shock to them all considering i've been labelled as my school years 'freak child'."

My mum looked down, not wanting to look at me.

"Don't be like that, now run along, you don't want to be late for your first lesson."

I sighed and rolled my eyes. "Fine, but you'll have to prepare for my emotional mess when I get home, see you later."

And with that, I kissed her on the cheek, and slowly dragged myself out of the car. A feeling of nervousness and regret washed over me as my feet touched the ground, What am I in for this year?

I strolled along the front yard, keeping my eyes to the ground and avoiding eye contact with every living organism I passed.

You may think that being in the junior year of high school that bullies may not be around anymore, that everybody just leaves eachother alone, but that's wrong.

I enter into the school and head straight for the girl's bathroom, I lean on the counter top and stare at myself in the mirror, I stared at my own eyes, silently cursing the bright purple one on the left side.

My parents refuse to tell me how this happened, apparently, I had just woken up one day and my left eye was randomly purple, I didn't believe them for a second.

I needed to find out what happened to me, the relationship with my parents cannot be driven on lies, I could either ask them directly for the truth, I'm 16, I should be old enough to know.

Or while they were out, I could sneak into their room and search for anything that may say who I really am.

I nodded to myself, I'll search their room, and if I find anything, I will question them.

I left the bathroom and headed back outside, just in time to see a strange car pull up and a student I didn't know jumped out.

The father had crimson red eyes and brown hair, in which he shared with his son, there was a circular scar on his forehead, I wonder what happened to his father.

The boy walked past me and our shoulders touched, he turned back to face of whoever he had jumped into and froze when he saw me.

"Sorry"

He smiled and walked off to the reception area to inform them that he is new.

I turned back round and headed to my sister, Ruby, who was waving me over.
