Alfie
************
I walked myself to school today, I could not bear to see my father after what happened yesterday. As far as I know, he is still upset over what I told him yesterday.
I sat down on a bench that was unaccompanied on the front yard and waited for the bell to ring to signal start of class.
However, I noticed that girl, Melody, arriving. Her little sister jumped out of the car, is that her little sister? She has red eyes and blonde hair, unlike Melody who has brown hair and discolored eyes, none of which are red.
Melody seemed to wait until her mother and sister and left, then proceeded to turn around and leave the school. Where is she going?
The urge to follow her becomes too much so I stand up and walk towards the school exit, trying to locate her to find out where she is going.
I slowly follow her until she turns into an area which happens to be the cemetery. The same one that my father's wife is buried at.
I walk up to the gate and try to locate Melody, but she is nowhere to be seen. I try to find her by walking through the graveyard.
It takes about 5 minutes, but I finally find her. But what I see surprises me. Melody is slumped down by two graves underneath an old oak tree, but surrounding her are 3 ghostly figures. 2 females and 1 male. One of the females is sitting down by Melody, seemingly soothing her, even though I do not know if Melody is even aware they are there. The male stands above her with his hand resting on her head.
I move forward two steps but then freeze in place when the other woman turns to face me and smiles warmly.
I know this woman, this is my aunt, my dad's wife, Georgia.
How does Melody know my aunt?
The other male and female look up and see me, then all three of them take a couple of steps towards me.
"Keep her safe from your father Alfie, destiny is inevitable between you and Melody, it is fate that you are to meet. But you must keep my daughter safe from that monster you call a father. You may look a lot like your father, but you are not him, you are a good person. Your eyes do not hold that same evil that your father's do. As Melody finds herself and fights the battles that are yet to come, you must defend her with your life. It is your destiny, keep my daughter safe."
I nod, unable to take in all that I had just heard. The apparitions smile, and slowly fade away, leaving just Melody and I.
I shake my head and glance over to Melody, who is still slumped down by the graves, however, tears are falling down her face this time. I gaze at her hands, that seem to be glowing with a faint pink colour.
"Are... Are you alright?"
I notice her jump in a panic and the colour on her hands vanish. Her head turns to face me and her expression becomes surprised and then embarrassed when she sees me.
"Y-Yeah, I'm f-fine" She stuttered. "What are you doing here?"
Now it was my turn to turn red with embarrassment, so I looked down and twiddled my thumbs.
"I kinda followed you, I was confused and wanted to know why you weren't going to school. Once I realised where you were going, I thought I'd might as well visit one of my relatives who is buried here. Who are you visiting?"
Melody peered back at the two graves behind her.
"My biological mother and father, they were murdered about 14-15 years ago. I was very young at the time. Also I intended to visit a very good friend of my parent's. But now you're here."
Good friend of my parent's? Was that Georgia?
"I won't stop you from seeing who you want to see. Go to them, i'll come with you."
Melody tried to stand up, but her legs started to shake and she fell down again, flushing red with embarrassment.
I ran up to her and grabbed her hands to aid her, and gasped slightly when an electric feeling erupted through my body. I felt the feeling happiness and safety grow within me, and I felt as if I was becoming stronger.
Confused by my body, I helped her to stand up, and she balanced herself upright. As soon as I let go of her hands, the cold feeling returned back and I felt myself longing for her touch again.
As Melody headed over to Georgia's grave I started to think.
Was this the girl my mother told me to protect, that male, who must have been her father did mention something about my destiny, as had my mother.
Hold on, My father aided in murdering my aunt when my aunt saved the wife of the person he seemed to hate so much, which seems to be Melody's mother.
Melody is the daughter of the innocent people my father killed. And it is my destiny to protect her from my father who will want to kill her too.
I found my destiny, I actually managed to find her. But now I must do my mum proud and fulfill my destiny and protect her.
When Melody turned around my facial expression turned to normal.
"Should we get back to school?"
She nodded and I turned around to head back, making sure she was following me. I must protect this innocent, beautiful girl with my life.
And that terrifies me.
