Alfie
I looked up at my house as I approached it, back to my father. I need to talk to him anyway, so I calmly walked through the door.
I lightly threw my bag to the side, and sat down on the sofa. My dad looked in from the kitchen, and sighed when he realised I was home. I looked at him.
"You promised."
He looked down.
"I know."
He walked into the room and sat down on the sofa next to me, he leaned forward and put jhis hands on his knees.
"Ask away then"
I smiled, he was finally willing to give me answers.
"Ok, so why did you cheat on your wife with my mum?"
Dad raised his eyebrows, and then they turned into a frown.
"Where did you hear that?"
"I overheard you talking about it."
Dad sighed.
"I can assure you I never cheated on my wife. Me and your mum kinda.... got friendly with eachother before I met my wife. Your mother didn't want me involved with you so she told everyone her husband was murdered, when asked who your father was."
Oh, well, thats new.
"What was her name?"
"Rebekah, my wife's sister."
I put my hand over my heart and winced.
"Ouch, did your wife ever find out?"
"No."
Okay, i'll change the subject slightly.
"Why did you kill that girl's parents? You seemed pretty proud of it when I overheard you."
Dad stood up, his eyes turning dark blue, I grew uncomfortable and started to squirm in my seat. He looked at me.
"It was my job, it was what your grandmother wanted before she died, and I failed everybody, my life's work failed."
It was then I realised something...
"Dad, when you were doing all of this, I was magic, were you planning on killing me along with everybody else?"
Dad looked down.
"I never thought about that."
I stood up, facing my father.
"So because of grandmother, and your stupid job, you will have killed your own son, and daughter, and your best friends. How low can you get Dad?"
Dad turned around and held me up against the wall using his magic. I felt his magic start to constrict around my neck and I gasped for oxygen.
"HE WAS NEVER MY FRIEND, THEY. WERE NEVER MY FRIENDS. I LIKED NOBODY APART FROM MY WIFE< WHO DIED BECAUSE OF THEM. I HAVE LOST MY JOB, AND MY DAUGHTER, AND I SWEAR, IF I EVER SEE THEIR DAUGHTER, SHE WILL PAY FOR WHAT THEY HAVE DONE TO ME!"
I managed to choke out.
"How, did... Georgia..........die?"
His eyes furrowed.
"I shot that girls mother, and Georgia used her magic to save her."
I became confused.
"Wouldn't that...... have been your fault....... for shooting the...... mother in the....... first place?"
Dad looked down, and as the realisation hit him. Tears started to form in his eyes and he released his grip on me.
I fell to the floor, choking and gasping for air. I ran out of the room as Dad fell to the floor crying, I heard him whimper.
"I've lost everything, and it's all my fault."
I rolled my eyes and walked up to my room, I'd gotten all of the information I needed out of him. As I entered my room, I grabbed my headphones from my desk and put them on.
As music started playing into my ears, I felt myself becoming stronger, and my magic was laced at my fingertips.
I hovered my hand over the wall behind my bed, and my secret door appeared. I opened it and took the lonely note out.
I could still smell my mother on the note, I felt her touch every time I held the note, I heard her voice every time I read what was written on the note.
'Save the child, the one your father aims to kill, protect her with your life, that is your destiny. Stay safe my guardian'
I hugged the note and tears came to my eyes.
"I would mum, I would, I just don't know where to find, please give me a sign."
When nothing happened, I sighed and put the note back into the box and cast my spell to hide it again.
I really need to go check on my dad, but I feel a really big force leading me to go on my computer. I walked across the room and sat down on my chair, switching my computer on.
I waited for the screen to load up and found myself logging into my Facebook account for some reason.
I haven't been on this site for at least a year.
I started scrolling through the posts, catching up on what i'd missed. Then a name in my 'people you may know' section popped up.
I looked at the picture, and recognised it as the girl I saw earlier today, the one that stopped me in her tracks.
Then suddenly, my hand started to bring itself across the desk, towards the 'add friend' option, and my eyebrows furrowed in confusion as I clicked the button without wanting to.
Why did I just do that?
