Lindsey had got straight As all through high school, and his parents were a little disappointed at first, when he chose an art major; and second, when he dropped out altogether to pursue music with his girlfriend. They loved Stevie almost as much as he did though, and knew his talent was rare and magical, so they supported his choice to head for LA. Their deal fell through after their first record received zero promotion, and flopped, outside of a small cult-fan base in Alabama. The next thing Lindsey's mom knew, her husband was dead and her youngest son was being financially supported by his girlfriend. Something had to change, and they all knew it. The biggest change came in the mail in the February of 1975. The famous crest on the top envelope vaguely registered with Stevie as she collected the mail, tossing it at Lindsey as she read his name on it, irritating him as he lay on the couch tuning his acoustic.
"Letter."
"Yes I can see that sweetheart," He replied sarcastically, ripping it open with his teeth.
"Shut up."
Lindsey's eyes widened as they scanned the page.
"Steph, baby I'm sorry. Come here."
"I'm busy." She tossed some dirty clothes into the laundry, then poured herself a coffee.
"No, seriously. Please." She carried over her mug with both hands, still narrowing her eyes as she sat beside him.
"I...I got accepted for the Stanford scholarship. For law."
"What?"
"I..."
"Yes, sorry...I just...Wow Linds that's amazing..." She placed her coffee on the floor and hugged him tight with both arms, kissing my face.
"You're not annoyed?"
"No of course not, I'm proud of you. You need to do something other than sit around here feeling sorry for yourself anyway!"
"But the music?"
"Baby we can still do the music."
"Yes. I promise you, we will, we'll make it. We've got something special."
"I just need you to promise me you're not going to leave me for some hot Ivy League chicks."
"Are you serious? Like I'd ever leave you!"
"Mmm," she hummed as they kissed deeply this time, their hands exploring each other's bodies. "You're gonna run the world one day Lindsey Buckingham," she whispered as she stroked him through his shorts.
"If only to make you happy."
"Well..."This is an idea I had that's rather different from any other, so I just had to start executing it. I know ya'll are probably fed up of me having unfinished stories but I will finish them all when I am ready.
