I'm Into You

Chapter 1

"Yeah mom. Don't worry. I'll pick up the pizza from the grocery store." My mom keeps reminding over and over again on the phone. She has already told me three times in the past ten minutes.

"Good. Be home by seven." She finally finished.

"I know ma!! I gotta go. I'll see you later. Bye love you." I say quickly before hanging up the phone. I shove my phone in my purse and continue my walk down the sidewalk into Publix.

The automatic doors open as I enter the store and walk over to where they sell the frozen pizzas. I search for a plain cheese pizza. The only pizza that was there was pepperoni and spinach. Ugh! I notice a young man, probably in his teens, in a Publix uniform walking past me.

"Excuse me!" I call out to him making him stop in his tracks to turn and face me.

"Can I help you?" the boy asks. He has messy brown hair and green eyes. Despite his rugged look, he is pretty cute. He seems to around sixteen or seventeen, just like me. His name tag read Luke.

"Uh...yeah. Do you guys have any more plain pizza?" I finally ask, unable to keep my eyes from looking anywhere but his. For some reason they are just so mesmerizing and I can't look away.

"Let me check in the back. I'll be right back." He turns and walks towards the back of the store.

When I lose sight of him I continue my search for the plain cheese I am in need of. I lean over the refrigerated shelf, rummaging through the pile of cardboard boxes. I feel two large hands grip the sides of my hips pulling me back into whoever is holding me. I straighten my back and try to free myself from this persons grip.

"What the heck!?" I yell out spinning really fast releasing myself from the hands that were holding me.

"Calm down Jess. It's just me." It is my boyfriend Jake. He let me go and ran his fingers through his blonde hair. He began laughing really loud throwing his head back to look at the ceiling. It's a good thing I can make him laugh when he just scared the hell out of me.

"Oh, Jake. Don't scare me like that!" I scold him swatting at his arm.

"Come here and give me a kiss." Jake places his hands on my hips and pulls me close to him once again and plants a kiss on my lips sending a jolt through my body. "Why are you here this late?" he asks.

"My mom wanted me to run a few errands. One of them involving buying a pizza that may or may not be in stock at the moment." I scoff crossing my arms across my chest.

Luke walks over to us carrying a cardboard pizza box in his hand.

"This is the last one. I had to search through a huge freezer to find it but I got it for you." Luke announces with a large smile on his face handing me the cheese pizza.

"Thank you so much!" I thank him, so grateful I finally have a cheese pizza. "You look familiar. Do I know you from somewhere?" I ask raising an eyebrow. I swear I have seen him before. I'm not exactly sure where but I know his face.

"Yeah we go to school together. I'm in your first hour, English class." Luke answers lowering his head looking to the floor.

"Oh yeah! Now I remember. Mr. Stern says you are like his favorite student." I add finally remembering him. "Luke Wilde. How can I forget, you always sit in front of me and always are the first to answer any question Mr. Stern asks." Luke lifts his head to look at me and I notice a smile creep on his lips.

"What a true nerd." Jake says putting his arm around my waist and pulling me close to him. Can feel his body begin to tense and he clenches his jaw tight. I try to ease my way away from him a bit because he is squeezing me way too tight. Unfortunately, he overpowered me and I could not free myself this time.
