-You seriously went out with Thomas? – Jane almost squealed.
-As friends. What about your lunch with Mario? – I smirked that I had a good way to change the topic.
-Audrey, he's amazing! He's so cute and romantic! – She was gushing over him.
It made me happy to see her pure joy and excitement. How I love seeing people crushing over someone. It brought out those glimmering eyes and smile.
-So are you going out?
-Well, we've been on one date but he says that he feels great with me. And he's taking me out on Wednesday again! I like him so much!
-Glad to hear it! You know, your smile is contagious so now even I won't stop smiling.
-Won't James get annoyed with that?
-He gets annoyed with everything I do. I don't know what his deal is. Maybe he doesn't believe that a girl can do such a good job.
-That's so sexist! In my department there are mostly women but we don't tease the men.
-Ah, who cares – as long as I'm doing my job, he can't touch me.
-Question? – Jane looked a bit hesitated to ask me.
-Come on, shoot. – I smiled reassuringly.
-Do you think it's because he's jealous of Thomas?
-What?! That's ridiculous. He knows that my job comes first...
I didn't know if I should tell her about what happened before I took the job.
-What is it?
-Well, before I took this job I was faced with a choice – leave everything home and move here or stay home and miss this opportunity. The catch is that when James asked me if I'm really serious, I told him that I am. He said that now is not the time for any drama, especially with relationships.
-And you left your boyfriend?
-That's the thing. He wasn't my boyfriend, but he said if I left – there will never be anything between us.
-Sorry, but that dude sounds like a jerk.
-I know but imagine it was Mario. You know how hard it is when you're smitten over someone. And Michael is very handsome –blond hair, blue eyes...amazing smile.
-Are you sure you're not describing Thomas? – Jane laughed.
-That's why I don't want to get mixed up in all of this.
-But you do like him! I knew it. And he likes...
Before she had the chance to finish I cut her off.
-Jane, I can't deal with this now. Too much drama and it will cost me my job in the end. Besides I think that it's best if we're only friends.
-Tell that to him. From what I hear, you guys really do get along well. And it's not that hard to fall in love with a friend. Especially if it's him. Well, he's not as handsome as Mario. – She stuck her tongue out at me.
-Well enough about me. I want to hear about Mario – you guys hit it off very fast.
Jane blushed and replied:
-The thing is that I would never do such a thing – get drunk and make out. But there is just something about him. I'm usually very careful around men but Mario just drives me crazy – in a good way.
