The morning I woke up to Thomas's kisses on my neck.

-Good morning, Schatz. – He said smiling at me.

-Morning. – I said in a sleepy voice. – What time is it?

-We have time. Don't worry.

-Thomas, I like you and all, but please let me sleep.

-I'd love to but I wanted us to talk about something. It's important.

-Mmm...what? – I said snuggling up to him.

He put his index finger under my chin and made me look at him.

-Look with all that drama with Mario and Jane, I want to be clear – I'm not going to do that. I'm a relationship kind of guy.

-Thomas, I trust you. I hope that you trust me, too.

-Of course, I do. To be honest, I feel like I can talk freely around you. You just understand me.

-I can say the same about you. You make me feel like myself.

-I'm so glad, Audrey. – He replied and kissed me on the forehead.

Just then my alarm went off and both of sighed.

-Hey, will I see you for lunch? – Thomas asked hopeful.

-I'd love, too. But I think Jane will need me today.

-Well then how about this evening?

-Alright. How about 6:30 in front of the building?

-It's a date. – Thomas smiled goofily.

-You're such a dork. – I stuck my tongue at him.

-But you like me like this. – He winked back.

-That's true. – I ruffled his hair. – Come on, or else we'll be late for work.

-Well, it's your fault...you're too cute to let go.

-Again, you really should have some self-control.

This time he had a smirk on his face and I understood him just by his expression. So I punched him.

-What? You're the one wearing shorts and a tank top – I'm only human. Besides you're the one who stared at my abs yesterday.

-Shut up and get dressed. – I bit my lip, thinking about what happened yesterday. It was all so surreal for me.

As we entered the office, I took a deep breath. I was hoping that Jane would be okay. I was even expecting that she'd be waiting for me at my office, so when I gave Thomas a quick kiss before my floor. But when the elevator doors opened there was no one there. I kind of felt relieved but worried at the same time. I sent her a message, inviting her to lunch.

When she didn't answer until noon, I decided to head to her floor. I found Jane at her desk putting a brave face on. But I knew her well enough to see the pain she was hiding.

-Hey, Jane. Do you want to go to lunch?

-Oh hi, Audrey. – She seemed dazed. – Yeah, sure.

As we headed to the café I sat opposite of her and squeezed her hand.

-Hey, I'm here for you.

-I know, Audrey. It's just all so...surreal. I'm still not sure what exactly happened. It feels like I've been hit by a train and I didn't even see it. But it serves me right for dating a football player. That's what they all are - players.
