When I arrived at school about ten minutes later, it had already been a bad day so far, in my case, at least. Needless to say, I was glad to see my few friends outside of the band hall, chatting. As soon as I walked over to them, I was greeted by playful slaps on the back, and the usual greeting.

"Hey, Jesse, are you still drooling over the thought of Rhiannon?", one of the seniors ask. "And don't even think of denying it, you're staring at her right now", he continues.

He was right. Rhiannon was right there, and I was staring right at her. She must have noticed it, because she instantly started walking my way with the meanest glare.

Now, I have to point out, she is only 5'3" in height, whereas I'm 6'2. Even so, when she walked up to me, I couldn't help but feel as if I was shrinking, and she was growing in height.

"What do you think you're looking at, kid?", she asks me, crossing her arms, keeping that glare fixed on me like a laser. "Uh...", I say, but that's all I can get out of my system without sounding even more like a retard (Note: I'm not saying mentally retarded people are stupid). "Look, if you keep staring at me like that every time we pass each other in the hallway, we're going to have a problem", she says, and storms off to go hang with her girlfriends.

Great way to kick it off.
