I walked into my parents house after spending the day pampering my self so I could put all these recent events behind me. I held on tightly to the bags with one hand while I bent over a little to hold on to the side table so I could take off my boots. While in the middle of removing my boots I heard talking-- well mostly my daddy, and it seemed like he had company here with him also. Since I heard another male voice shortly after his.

Instead of going to where they were, which sounded like they were currently in the living room. I grabbed my boots and quietly tried to walk pass them without being noticed. Knowing the kind of person my daddy was, he would want to introduce me to whoever he was entertaining. Or if it was an old friend or something they would be all in my face about how I've grown up; and I just wasn't here for it. I just wanted to go to my room and lay down for a bit, since my back and feet were killing me.

When I thought I was gonna be able to make it without being detected I heard my daddy calling my name which made me cringe. I slowly turned around and gave him a fake closed mouth smile.

"Yes?" I answered.

"I've been trying to get in touch with you for the past couple of hours where have you been?" He wondered. I held the shopping bags up in the air giving him the answer he needed instead of telling him.

"I turned my phone off, I just wanted to be unbothered." I responded.

"Oh okay, well I just wanted you to come say hello to an old friend." He pointed towards the walkway where it connected to the kitchen. I rolled my eyes a little not really up to meeting anybody, but trying to be respectful I looked around for the guy and only knew it was a guy because when I came in it sounded like another male voice talking.

"Where is this person?" I asked looking back to the walkway. Just as my dad was about to answer, the last person I expected to see came walking through into the living room drinking out of a plastic cup.

Everything I remembered about him changed. He no longer sported dreads his hair was now cut in some crazy high top curly style that was dyed blonde at the top. He still was muscular but he had slimmed down over the years. Honestly he looked better than he had done years ago if you asked me. It's like he got rid of his thuggish appearance and now carried subtle touches that nonetheless gave him a more mature appearance.
