"You can't go back to how things were. How you thought they were. All you really have is...now." - Jay Asher
“Let’s go Caela!” I yelled to my slow ass roommate. She was forever the diva and she took forever to get ready.
“Bitch you cannot rush perfection. I would have been finished if I didn’t have to redo my hair.” she replied. I shook my head as I grabbed my keys from the kitchen counter. Tonight we were going out to celebrate Caela's twenty first bithday.
"How you gonna be late to your own party?" I asked her as she came walking out of the bathroom putting on her earrings.
"I told you I had to do my hair, thanks to Kiron fucking it up." Kiron was Caela's on and off again boyfriend and also Tahj's best friend. She's the one who introduced me to Tahj. “Tahj is gonna have a fit,” she said shaking her head.
"About what?" I furrowed my eyebrows at her wondering what the hell she was shaking her head at.
"You're outfit." She giggled using her index finger, tracing the palm tree on my top that covered my nipple.
“Don’t worry about Tahj, I'll deal with him,” I told her.
“Alright, let’s go because a bitch is ready to party,” Caela said grabbing her clutch.
We walked outside and I locked the door after us before going to get in the car.
"We have to go pick up Malaysia or did she have a ride already?" I questioned buckling my seat belt.
"Yeah, she was supposed to ride with Nikki but you know how she acts sometimes." She responded. I nodded my head because I knew how Nikki was. Throughout my three years of college I only hung around three girls which consisted of Caela, Malaysia and Nikki. They were my first friends and my roommates at one point until Caela and I moved into our own apartment together. Caela and I have always been the closet because we had so much in common and got along better than the other girls. She always kept it real and maybe to real at times. She was the type of girl to say what nobody else would say and if it was mean she'll make it sound genuine.
Malaysia was a different type of girl, she was cool as hell to be around but she just let's people walk all over her. That's one characteristic I disliked about her. She had a mouth on her but would only use it if it was her last resort. She was a very introvert , conservative type girl and never really liked going out.
Then there was Nikki who sometimes felt she was better than all of us. I had to put her in her place a few times and although we weren't as close as I would like she was still considered my friend. She just had a lot to work on foreal. Now Nikki is the type to party and have fun so when Caela and I wanted to step out and have a nice time that's who would be the first person to call. Then again Nikki was also the type of girl to make plans then cancel at the last minute, like literally at the last minute.
"What was her reason for not getting her this time?"
"She told Malaysia she was with Aaron and they weren't gonna make the party until later or something like that, I don't know." I rolled my eyes because it was always an excuse with Nikki. We pulled up toMalaysia's apartment and Caela honked her horn to let her know we was out here.
"You're so ghetto." I laughed, "Just call her and tell her we here."
"No need to here she come anyways." I put my phone back in my clutch after responding to Tahj's text and looked up to see Malaysia walking towards the car. She waked around to the drivers side and opened the back door and claimed inside.
