Matt had been kind enough to drop me off at home, and warned me of an unknown something that is going to take place at lunch today. Oh god. My mind was whirling. I'm standing in front of the mirror, my older brother pounding on the door, trying to do my makeup seemed like an impossible task. "Amity if you don't hurry up I'm going to bust down the door and piss on you!" "Give me five minutes of quiet and I will let you in, ok Daniel?" I huffed getting annoyed by my bigger, little brother. "Fine, but that better mean you're paying for my lunch too?" I laughed. There was no way that was going to happen considering I just found out last week he took some X for kicks. "No, loser!" He had taken a dip when I did. Being the reason for it only made me feel worse, but he had gotten better. A lot better. Other than the drug abuse. I had decided to wear a pair of black skinny jeans to cover my wounded knee and my Jim Morris tee shirt with rips in the shape of a heart on the back. My brown hair hung low on my back, and my bangs hung slightly in my face to cover my oddity eyes. I walked out of the bathroom feeling somewhat accomplished with my makeup done allowing me to look decent for once. I grabbed my coffee. Just the smell of it made me start to relax a bit. That was until I heard a car horn. "Danny is mom already in the car?" I looked out the window catching full view of Matt's eclipse. "I've lost it," I mumbled not believing the sight before me. Until Matt stepped out of the car. He was throwing a tee shirt on over his muscular torso. I looked away embarrassed to catch myself checking him out. I set my coffee down, and bolted for the door. I opened it before he could knock. "Well hello there little lady," he bowed giving me a cheeky smile. "Hey child," I joked, "what brings you over this way?" He grabbed my shoulders, "I came as a knight in shining armor to give a beautiful lass a chariot ride to further her education." I blushed with embarrassment. "Thanks." I smiled and bit down on my bottom lip kicking myself for loving the smell of his cologne. I stumbled back, not realizing I had been pressed against the door. I turned to see my mother glaring harshly at me. "Uh, hi mom. This is Matt. Matt this is my mom Daisy." I was staring at my mother with my best 'please don't be embarrassing' smile on. "Well, hello Matt. I haven't heard much about you. You go to Amity's school, right?" She looked at me for an explanation, but Matt beat me to it. I looked up at Matt, whom was behind me. "You see Ma'am, Amity and I are good friends. I was just wanting to give her a ride to school. I promise you I only want the best for her, and I completely understand if you aren't okay with me taking her to school considering you are the parent of a dazzling young woman." He looked down giving me a grin. I blushed a deep red, and looked at my mommy pleading with my eyes. "Of course you can Matt!" She says with a bright, excited smile. "Amity hasn't had a boyfriend since sixth grade, and she never rides with her friends. I'll tell Danny that he isn't taking you. Amity you go grab your things and don't keep this dashing young gentleman waiting. Matt you can come in and sit down if you'd like. Would you like anything to drink?" I grabbed Matt's hand and followed my mother into our small house. I turned to face him, backing into the room, "I am so sorry," I mouthed, but saw the smirk spreading across his face before turning back around. I let go of his hand and left him with my mother. I grabbed my things from my bedroom; my book bag, my phone and charger, homework, my laptop, and mints. I was just leaving my room when I ran into Matt again. He laughed and caught my arms before I could do any damage to myself, "That's the second time today, miss graceful." I looked up almost feeling my eyes shift, "Looks like you don't mind it so much." "No. I almost wished you'd do it more." I punched his chest and yelled back to my mom who had left us for God only knows what reason "I LOVE YOU MOM. HAVE A NICE DAY!" She came into the room to give me a hug, "Have fun at school, don't do anything stupid, to the moon and back baby," and with that she kissed my forehead. "To the moon and back Mommy." I opened the door for Matt and we left for school.
