I turn to see where the voice came from.
"Jeff?!" I gasp.
"You can thank me later," He smiles a bit.
I eye Victor, he still is in the same position he was before.
"Don't worry about him," Jeff says.
"He still has his gun aimed at us!" I exclaim.
"About that," Jeff says, "I might've done something to time..."
"What?"
"Being 'Broken' there's more to it. Well... We can control time, whatever we want; freeze it, go to the past or go to the future."
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"Because I needed to wait till the right time, so you wouldn't become Unbroken."
"I thought-" I start, but he interrupts.
"Most of the things you were told was only half of the truth. So when your Broken it means that somebody you loved past away. So you get these abilities to control time, when you're sixteen. But if you use it to go back in time too far and save that loved one, you become Unbroken because your loved one would be alive after. The only way to be Broken again is if another one of your loved ones dies."We call ourselves Broken because we broke time. And Unbroken fixed time... But in my opinion, Unbroken just broke it even more."
"A lot to take in..." I'm speechless.
"Uh huh. So what happened to you? No offense, but you look bad." He tries to hide his smirk.
"I've been through hell. I'll explain later," I laugh.
"Speaking of, we should get going," He says, "Get his gun."
I slowly take the gun from Victor's hand and go back to Jeff's side,
"What's the plan?"***
Once we arrived back to BFC, we resumed time again.
"That was quick!" Sherry says, her voice slightly more enthusiastic then the last time I heard it.
"Yeah," Jeff nudges my arm lightly.
"Taylor is waiting for you in your dorm. Then at six, we'll interview you," Sherry says.
"Interview me?" I exclaim.
"Well we know you didn't stay in a five star hotel. We need to know if their planning anything against us."
"Why would they tell me-"
"We need to know what they did to you. Why did they take you, but not somebody else."***
I am immediately embraced when I walk into my dorm.
"Uh, Hi?" I say breathlessly.
"I was so worried," Tay gasps, "What happened to you? You look like you've-"
"Been through hell? Yeah... Pretty much." I smile, "How long have I been gone?"
"A day and a half... What... What happened?"
"It was weird, you know? They brought me to this place, looked like crap, and they did these tests on me. First they put me in this machine, but then... They put these needles in me, like three times... I couldn't breathe." I bite my lip; I should save the details for when they interview me.
"Damn," Tay raises her eyebrows, "Well... You probably haven't eaten yet, so why don't you get changed, then we'll go have a dinner."***
The food feels warm in my stomach. Earlier when I looked at myself in the mirror, I realized that my friends were right; I looked horrible. My face was pale, dry lips, and I looked like if somebody touched me, I would shatter into many small pieces.
"Hello, Miss Evans," A women greets me at the table.
I take a seat and place my arms under the table.
"I see you already started to regain some color." She says, but I don't reply.
"So... Go ahead, I'm listening," She waits till I reply.
I start from when was wondering in the halls, to when I woke up in that place, skipped the Toby part, when they splashed me with water, to when Victor came in-
"This man, what did he look like?" She asks.
"His name is Victor, he had dark hair-" I start.
"Victor?" She raises her eyebrows.
"Is there a problem?" I say evenly.
"No, continue,"
Then I mentioned Toby and Andy-
"Toby?" The women interrupts again.
"Yes, my "instructor"" I say.
"Interesting, but there he went by a different name?"
I hesitate. Should I save him? No, he didn't save me...
"Dylan," I say.
