Aidan
I lean back in my chair. I put Jordyn in this test now because I was so anxious. This is always my favourite part of training other people, because of their different reactions. But Jordyn's reaction, however, is not going as expected. She does odd movements around the now broken box, screaming in frustration after each one.
After ten more minutes of trying that, she stops. Her hands relax, and calmly stares at the camera. She knows we're watching her.
"I'm not as stupid as you think. I know this is just a test," she spits each word out like snake venom, it almost scares me. Then she raises her hand waving a finger at us.
I try not to laugh at this. She's almost kind of cute when she's in this mood. The way her mouth narrows, but her eyes are still wide and curious, but at the same time, you can see the fire boiling inside of them.
She focuses her glare back to the shattered box. Then, out of the blue, she closes her eyes and breathes slowly. Her hand flinches.***
I stare at the screen. The box lays on the table un-touched. Jordyn looks so excited, for some odd reason. Her mouth curls into a smile and her eyes light up. Then she looks at the camera.
"I did it," she exclaims, "I passed your test! I broke the box and went back in time to fix it!"
I glance at the box and notice something that I didn't notice before; it went from white, to a deep purple colour, which indicates that she has went back in time to fix it. Although that's not the test. The test is that you have to find a way to get out of the room. But we put the box there for two main reasons; distract her and so we can see if she played with time. Purple means they went back in time, blue means they paused time and green means that they went into the future. Although it's rare that we see them go into the future and survive.
After ten to fifteen minutes, Jordyn's excitement fades. She kicks the wall then sits down, frustrated. Her eyes harden and she chews her lip. She thinks hard.
"So you're testing her now," I hear a deep voice say. "I didn't know that she's that far through training."
I turn to see that Noah had spoken to me.
"Yeah, well no," I say. "I decided to do this before fighting,"
Noah sits down beside me. We watch Jordyn struggle to find another idea.
"So do you like her?" Noah asks me abruptly.
"What?!" I exclaim.
"Don't pretend you don't know," Noah tries to wipe the smirk off his face. "Grace and I saw the way you look at her,"
"No way," I shake my head. "Guys and girls can be friends. Like Grace and I, or you and Grace,"
Noah raises his eyebrows at me, still unconvinced. We look at the screen. I start to believe that Jordyn has given up. I guess Noah's right, she isn't ready yet. I gather my stuff, but stop when I feel Noah's hand on my chest. I glance at the screen to see Jordyn's eyes light up again. She has an idea.
