Jordyn

"Where are you going?" Tay asks me.
"Paintball, with Jack, remember?" I ask.
"And you're gonna go like that?" Tay raises her eyebrows at me.
I try not to smile. Tay is always like this, going to a party or a game of paintball; you've gotta look nice, especially if you're around guys.

"Maybe," I say. "What do you think I should wear?"
"Put on some eyeliner on at leased, and wear something tighter," She turns around and grabs a pair of tight leggings. "Like these,"
"Okay, okay," I can't help but to laugh a bit. "but I don't think they give makeup here,"
"You can borrow some if mine,"
"You have makeup with you?"
"Always, just in case,"

I grab her eyeliner and the pants, then go change into them.

We meet Jack in room 13 at around 10:00. Once we enter the room, my mouth drops slightly. The room is like the training room, but two or even three times bigger. It has obstacles set up all over the place, like its meant for paintball.

"Damn," Jack raises his eyebrows at us. "You two dressed up! It's just a game of paintball, you know,"

I glance at Tay, who blushes a bit.

"We know," She says.
"Uhh... You guys can go over there," Jack points at a big group of people.

Just a couple of friends, I think to myself.
I spot Aidan and walk towards him, dragging Tay along with me.

"Oh, hi!" Aidan waves to us.

Aidan is talking to couple of his friends. It's weird to see him like this.

"So, Taylor and Jordyn, this is Noah and Grace," Aidan says, pointing to each one of his friends. Noah has dark skin and short hair. He is slightly more muscular than Aidan, but not buff. Grace, however, has a stern look, but at the same time it makes her look beautiful. She has light skin and dirty blonde hair that is almost brown that falls to her shoulders.

"How do you guys know each other?" I ask.
"We trained here together a year ago," Noah replies in his deep, but somewhat playful voice.
"Cool," I don't know what else to say.

"Hey everyone," Jack stands on a table, and when nobody listens, he yells louder. "Shut up!"
Silence grows around the room.
"Okay," Jack rubs his hands together. "let's get started. Any volunteers for team captains?"
A couple of people raise their hands, and Jack picks two carefully. Then, the captains play a quick game of 'rock paper scissors' to decide who picks first. The girl with dark hair, tighed into braids, picks first.
"Jack," She says.
Jack nods curtly as he walks to her side.
"Andrew," Jack points to the boy with green hair. "Your turn to pick,"
"Derrick,"
"Erika,"
"Avery,"
"Pete,"
"Aidan,"
Aidan blushed a bit and proceeds forward beside Andrew.
"Grace,"
Many more names were picked, including Noah's, and after what seems like forever, there was at leased five people left. There was Tay, a girl slightly over weight, a short boy with long hair, a girl with round glasses and myself.
"Joseph," Andrew says. The boy with long hair walks towards Andrew's team. Four more left, including me.
"C'mon, the girls don't bite," Jack says. "Who are you gonna pick, Megan?"
Megan looks at each one of us very carefully, then says, "You!" She points at me.
I feel my face go warm as I walk towards Megan's team. As I get closer, I notice that there's something similar about each person on our team; everyone is slightly shorter and narrower. On Andrew's team, everybody is taller and most of their muscles are visible.
"She has a name," Jack laughs a bit. "It's Jordyn, you might as well call her by that."
He winks at me.
The next pick is not a surprise to me.
"Her," Andrew points directly at Tay. She is the tallest and most fit one of the rest of the choices.
"Her name is Taylor," Jack sighs.
Tay walks to Andrew quickly. Great, now both my friends are on the opposite team as me.
After the teams are picked, Jack announces the rules.
"Okay, so you all know how to use a gun, right?" Jack says, bored.
We all nod, some people murmur a yes under their breaths.
"Good," Jack leans back on the wall. "So you each have three lives, so you get shot three times, you're out. The more people you shoot, the more points your team gets. Once one team looses all of their players, the game ends. The team with the most points wins. Any questions?"
Jack doesn't wait for an answer and turns to his team.

"Okay, here's the plan," Megan say to us.
"Get into small groups of twos or threes, so one leads and the other looks behind. Got it?"

The team forms itself into groups quickly. Grace, Noah and I are partners. Then our team receives a red paintball gun each, the other team gets theirs after, although theirs are blue.
"On the count of three," Jack says. "One,"

Grace takes the front, I'm in the middle and Noah's at her heels.

"Two,"

I make sure my gun is loaded with paint and put extra paintballs in a small bag attached to my side.

"Three!"

Grace starts to jog forwards. At first, there are so many people, but then it starts to die down; opening more hiding places.
I hear a couple of paint spatters around us. I glance around to see small colourful marks on the ground. Someone's trying to shoot at us.

Thanks for reading! I think you've noticed that I put the name Jordyn on the latest parts, and that's because I'm planning to switch the POV a couple of times! I wanted to thank viva_101 (check out her stories, their really good)  for suggesting the artist Melanie Martinez to me, I find it easier to write this story while I listen to her songs, idk why though... I also want to do a shoutout to kailynn_26, she writes AMAZING stories, like the Banishment, so go check that out too! That's all I wanted to say, so yeah... I also won't be doing these comments ALL THE TIME at the end, because I never knew what to say. Thanks for reading!!!!
