Chapter Twenty Three
For the first half of the game, we mostly watched the game as it got more and more intense. Of course, there were still times that I would ask Will about things that I don't understand.
On the second quarter with only thirty seconds left on the clock before half time, the Golden State Warriors are leading with 46 points and Spurs with 44 points.
The buzzer for halftime came, and the players of each team went to the lockers. I think.
The cheer dancers of Spurs came out, a song was being played as they danced, we were quietly enjoying the dancers. When we heard loud cheers, we looked up at the monitors to see that we were chosen for the kisscam.
We both laughed, probably thinking about how silly this whole thing was. But then the announcer spoke:
"Welcome Natalie Louise Silver, one of the State's star swimmer, and William James St. Claire captain and star soccer player of the state!"
Everyone cheered louder, soon enough they began chanting, "Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!"
"May I?" He asked, his eyes full of amusement.
I'm glad one of us is amused by this. Because I'm not.
I gulped, "Okay,"
He leaned in and kissed me, it started off slow and steady, but then I felt him lick my lower lip asking for entrance, to which I complied, his tongue entered red my mouth and soon my hand was on his hair, he smiled through my lips, giving me one last peck before he pulled away.
Everyone around us were cheering, and we didn't even notice that the players of both teams were already back on the court, but even they were watching us.
This is so bloody embarrassing.
"We hope you enjoy tonight's game, cheers to the power couple!" The announcer said, as everyone cheered louder.
The buzzer buzzed, signaling that the game has started.
"If I knew that you were such a damn good kisser, I would have kissed you sooner, love." He whispered huskily.
I laughed; trying hard to hide my blushing cheeks, "Let's watch the game, yeah?"
He pecked my lips again before turning his attention back to the game.
But hey, I'm not complaining even if he'd steal a thousand more kisses.
A few moments later.
"I'm sorry, Louise. Am I going too fast?" Will asked, worriedly.
"What? No. This is all just new to me."
He sighed, running his hand through his messy hair. "I'm sorry, its just. There's something about you that makes me feel like I've known you for such a long time."
"I feel the same," I smiled.
"Good, then. I guess I'm allowed to take you out on a second date?"
"I'd love to."
He only smiled and went back to watching the game.
As soon as the game finished, Will took me home, but not after we ate at a small diner that probably has the most amazing burgers ever.
"Text me when you get home, okay?"
He smiled again, caressing my cheek, "I will." He kissed my cheek and then he left.
