Wow, they're on the cover of the tabloid again. I don't even know what to feel now.

Louise and I were never together, but it's stupid that I somehow feel jealous of the two of them, Will is such a lucky bastard. Luckier than I will ever be.

"Parker? Babe? Are you coming?" She asked.

"Yeah, just give me a minute."

Jane asked as she sat beside me. "Oh you saw that too?" She snorted and rolled her eyes. "I don't know why they're all making a big deal out of this. He asked her to prom, so what?"

I shrugged not knowing what to say to her, I didn't want to defend Louise because I don't want to argue with Jane. I know how much she hates Louise, which is weird since they were friends before she graduated high school.

"Well, come on then, I have to get back to the University, it's a five hour drive from here." Jane stood up and held her hand out for me.

I took her hand and we headed out the door.

I stopped by Luigi's Pizzeria as soon as I got back from driving Jane back. Damn, who knew a girl could talk non-stop for five hours. She talked about make ups to nail polish to the color of heels she'd buy. I wanted to just put my damn sock in her mouth at some point.

As soon as I entered I smelled the aroma of pizza being cooked, I also saw Louise sitting at a table beside the window by herself.

"Hey Louise, long time no see, I saw another tabloid of you and Will." I chuckled. Why the fuck am I so nervous?

"Oh hey Parker, are you with anyone?" She smiled looking up at me. Gone was the fiery hatred in her eyes every time she looks at me, or maybe she was just good at hiding it.

I shook my head.

"Come sit with me then, we can be alone together." She pointed at the vacant seat across from her.

"So, how have you been?"

"I'm good. Never been better, Will makes me so happy." She smiled.

Something in my heart cracked as I looked at how happy she is with someone else. A small part of me wished it was me, but another part of me is happy that she's finally getting what she deserves. Only happiness. "That's good to hear, Loui. Listen, I'm really sorry for the things I did before, I know I was being a total j-"

She reached out and held my hand, "Hey, it's okay. Don't worry about it, okay? If anything, I should be the one to apologize, I don't know why I acted the way I did when I saw you and Jane, I was just your friend. I shouldn't have acted the way I did and I'm really sorry for that Parker. I just want a clean slate for the both of us, especially since I'll be living with you at my mother's in California for a few months." She smiled sadly. She looked down at our hands and retreated her hand immediately.

"No, I'm sorry, I promised I'd stay with you, and I just abandoned you like that. I know we had something from those kisses we shared, I know I felt something for you, Louise. I screwed up."

She shook her head, "No, Parker we had a blast, and I'm so thankful that you were there for me during my most challenging days and for helping me become a better person and kisser." She laughed.

I laughed lightly, "Friends?" I took my hand out for her to shake.

"Friends." She smiled and shook my hand.

"So, how are you and Will?" I asked casually.

"Oh, Will is such an amazing guy. I really like him."

I nodded, "That's good to hear, Loui. You deserve someone like Will in your life." I smirked. "Even though you're a total pain in the ass."

She looked at me wide eyed. "Hey! I am so not a pain in the ass! I'm cute!"

"Sure sure, of course you are. I mean, with all those whinning about wanting cookies? And remember that one time we ran around school because you wanted friggin' oreos? God, you were such a needy baby greedy baby." I laughed as I reminisced about that memory, it seemed like it was just yesterday. When we were happy, when everything felt just right.

She pouted, "For your information, you promised there'd be cookies! Plus, you were bloody tempting me with those oreos! What the hell was I supposed to do? Just stare while you eat oreos? ARE YOU CRAZY?"

Before I could reply, a waiter walked to our table. "Good evening, I'm Tom and I'll be your waiter for tonight, may I take your order?"

"I would like two double cheese pizza, a large fries, and a strawberry milkshake." Tom wrote down Louise's order. "Oh and a hot fudge sundae and some nachos please, thank you."

"Whoa, Louise, since when did you become such a monster?" I teased. "I'll have four meat lover's pizza, extra large coke and some nuggets."

"Okay, coming right up!" Tom left our table.

"I am so not a monster! It's swim season, I gotta eat you know." Louise defended, crossing her arms over her chest.

"I've heard that excuse before."

"Oh please, you eat like a girl and I don't judge you for it."

"It's because I ate with Jane before I dropped her off at the Uni."

"Sure, I've heard that excuse before." She mocked rolling her eyes. "So how are things between you and Jane?"

"Oh, she's great, but the long distance thing is really killing the both of us. Plus, she's worried about me cheating."

Louise snorted, "I'd be worried if I were her too."

"Hey, what the hell was that supposed to mean?"

"Here are your orders!" Tom exclaimed as he laid our food on the table.

As soon as he left, Louise took a bite of her double cheese pizza and took four pieces of fries, "Come on Parker. We both know you're an ass, it's only normal for Jane to be worried about you cheating on her."

"I've never cheated before Louise, I may be a player, but I take girls one night at a time."

She laughed, "And that's exactly why she'd be worried."

And for the rest of the night we just ate and talked about anything and everything.

I'm glad that she and I are friends, I guess that's what we'll always be, we're both in a relationship, and I guess it's better than looking at her from a distance, gathering the courage to talk to her and ending up not doing it.

We can be friends.

For now.
