Chapter 29

Ai's POV

My phone rang. I opened my eyes and glanced at my surrounding. It's already morning. I sat up and grabbed my phone from the bed side table. I answered it.

"Ai? Good morning!" the other line started. His voice sounded excited.

"Good morning, Ryosuke~kun!" I greeted him joyfully. I yawned.

"Let's meet in front of the tea house near the jimusho by 11:30. Let's have a lunch date. See you!" then he hung up.

Eh? We will have a date in a public place? Won't that be dangerous for us?

Anyway, I have to get ready now.

10:40 am, I left home. I rode a taxi and went to the tea house near the jimusho. I waited in front the tea house. At exactly 11:20 am, he arrived.

"Did you wait that long?" he asked.

"No. I was just really early," I smiled.

"Let's go," he said as he walked ahead of me. He entered the tea house.

"Ryosuke~kun, are you sure about this? Aren't we forbidden to meet in public?" I asked worriedly.

"Just trust me," he smiled confidently.

He stopped walking near a table where a family is seated.

"Okaasan," he muttered.

Okaasan? What does that mean?

A woman in her fifty's stood up and went to Ryosuke~kun.

"Ryosuke!" she exclaimed as she hugged him.

She released him from the hug. She held him by the shoulders and examined him from head to toe.

"I really missed you! I missed you so much!" she hugged him again.

"I missed you, too, okaasan," he said and hugged back.

The woman noticed me. She smiled at me. "Is she your girlfriend?" she asked.

Suddenly, my heart beat fast and loud. I didn't know that this is a family lunch date.

"Yes." Ryosuke~kun answered.

I gasped. "Kawashima Ai to moshimasu. Yoroshiku onegaishimasu!" I exclaimed as I bowed 90 degrees.

"Nice to meet you, Ai~chan!" she said. "I'm Ryosuke's mother. I'm glad and thankful of you for taking care of this brat," she added. She smiled.

"No, thank you, ma'am. Without you, Ryosuke~kun won't be born in the Earth. That's why, thank you!" I bowed again.

"Don't mention it, Ai~chan," she said.

She invited me to sit. I sat opposite her mother, father and two siblings. I'm adjacent to Ryosuke~kun.

They chatted and interviewed me. His family is amazing. It's like they just met yesterday where in fact they were apart for almost 9 years. Yes, 9 years. We're 4 years in a relationship now and this is the first time I met his family. Even though this is the first time, they accepted me in their family open arms.

Things went well. And the day every girl is waiting for came. Yes, our wedding day. At first I was hesitant when he proposed to me. I was thinking about his career but he told me, "I'm already 25 yrs. old. I'm at the right age. I consulted Johnny~san before I did this that's why there's nothing to worry about."

It was an assurance that's why I said yes. And now, it's our wedding day.

We may be Buddhist but we chose to have a church wedding.
