Preference #22 Looking for a Uni

Harry: He joins you on one of the uni tours you planned on going to. Upon reaching the dorms, he whispers, “These are really small.” And you agree with him. When the two of you were strolling around the uni, he said, “If you’re going to study here, we should look for a flat near the place. I heard that a cramped up place isn’t a good studying environment.” He then drags you to the car and drives around the city, looking for a place you (and he, on occasions) would eventually live in.

Liam: You beg him to go with you on a campus tour on your dream university. As you walk around the campus, you were sure this is where you want to be. You just need to make sure you get a scholarship. “I can help,” he offers, but you decline. So, you talk to the department dean and inquire about the scholarships offered. You leave the office determined, but scared. This was your dream university. You’d be crushed if you lose the chance to study here. “Let’s have a deal,” he says, “if you get the scholarship, then it’s great, but if you don’t- I’m not saying you won’t, just thinking of the worst case scenario- let me help. You can pay me back when you have a work. How’s that?” You were unsure, but the determined look on his face made you consider the option.

Louis: He offers to drive you to university prospects, and you happily oblige because, well, who doesn’t want a free ride? After four universities, however, you notice that the schools you’ve been going to are near his hometown. While you were driving to your fifth destination, you test him, “Babe, there’s this university in Spain I want to check out. My mom’s okay with it. Do you want to go with me?” He was quiet for a while, but you can see he’s stressed out by the way he’s holding onto the stirring wheel. “You still want to go there?” He asks, “Don’t you want the ones we’ve been to?” “I like them, but I would like to have options.” “But it’s so far away,” he whines. Busted. You smile to yourself and say, “Is that the reason why you offered to drive me? To keep me from going to universities far away?” “…yes.” You kiss him on the cheeks and say, “I can always ride the train or plane, love. It won’t be that far. It’ll only be four years. It’ll be over before we know it.”

Niall: He insists on going with you to the campus tours, and when you’re in a university you particularly like, he asks a student where the food place is, and you instantly go there. Once he sees there’s an abundant choice of restaurants/food places, he grins at you and says, “I think you should go here.” Because of the restaurants?” You ask, laughing. He shakes his head and keeps you close. “I don’t want you to starve and eat crap food. I won’t be here all the time, so I can’t check up on you. I want to make sure you’ll be able to eat a lot, even when I’m gone. Don’t starve yourself, okay? I will find out. My crazy mofos will tell me.” You laugh at him, but you can see the sincerity in his eyes. He truly cares.

Zayn: He’s always added his two cents on the universities you’ve visited and there was always something wrong. For him. But, when you visited an all-girls’ college, he finally looks satisfied. “Babe, I think this is the one.” You look at him and say, “Really? I prefer the curriculum of the last one we’ve been to.” “But it’s co-ed.” “So?” He looks shy. “There are boys there.” “And?” “They might steal you away from me,” he whispers, obviously embarrassed. You smile. “I won’t let them. I’m all yours.” He stops himself from smiling, but you can see the small curve of his lips. Soon, he has a full grin on his face, but he keeps quiet beside you. When the tour was over, you hold his hand and say, “Will you let me try to go to a co-ed?” He nods his head and grins again. “As long as you’re still mine.” “That won’t be a problem.”
