Harry: It was quite sad that the supposedly happiest day of your life became one of your saddest. You were a room away from the venue of the ceremony, patiently waiting for the makeup artist finish her work on you. You nervously fiddled with your phone, and soon, it buzzes and you instantly unlock it to see a text from your husband-to-be. You could feel your heart break and you were pretty sure everyone in the room felt it too, because as soon as you see his text message, your face was in your hands, and you were crying. ‘I can’t do this. I’m sorry.’

Liam: The two of you were walking around Wolverhampton, quietly watching the people around you get on with their lives. The two of you haven’t been able to do this for a while now, but you feel a lump in your throat because something doesn’t seem right. He was in a daze and his grip on your hand was loose and lax. When the two of you reached your shared home, you knew you had to ask him what was wrong. He stares at you and sighs, and he sits down on the couch, patting the space beside his for you to sit on. And he tells you how he feels, how unhappy he’s become, how empty he feels when he’s with you. He tells you it’s not supposed to feel that way and he doesn’t know what’s happened, but he thinks it’s best for you to spend time apart from each other. That maybe space would just maybe fix what the two of you have left.

Louis: The two of you have been busy with your careers, him with One Direction, and you with your second shot at uni. He was away from home, and you couldn’t really leave because of your school load, but you tried to stay in contact with him. But you felt that he was slowly slipping away from you… until eventually all contact was lost. You didn’t faze, having faith and trust in Louis and your relationship with him. You believed that as long as you loved each other, it would be alright. And most people believed that absence makes the heart grow fonder, right? But just after four months, articles were released of Louis with a new girl, and just then, you knew you were replaced. And the person who made everyone believe that absence makes the heart grow fonder should just shove his words up his ass.

Niall: He was finally done with touring and everything, and now he has time for himself. He can finally be a normal boy again. He decided that he wanted to travel and see the world again, but this time, just as an ordinary tourist. He wanted to experience the world the way he didn’t when he was still in the band. He wanted to learn a new language or two, and meet people as Niall Horan, the Irish tourist. You were happy for him, and you knew how much he wanted to do this. He had one request though. He wanted to take a break with you, be an independent man and do what he’s always wanted to do before One Direction came into the picture. You were surprisingly okay with it, and just before he boards on his plane, he kisses you on your lips, and whispers, “I don’t know when, but when I come back, we’ll see each other again. I love you.”

Zayn: The two of you have always thought about your future, talking about it every once in a while. So, it was quite a surprise when one day he told you he didn’t want to be with you anymore. “It’s not you, it’s me.” That same, cliche excuse. You almost wanted to slap him with the absurdity of it all. You just thought that maybe the two years you spent would him would at least earn you a proper explanation as to why he wants to break up. You were full of bitterness when he left, because in the end, he never really told you why he left in the first place. Just that there was something wrong with him, not with you. You call ‘bullshit’.
