Troubled But Strong

The End of What Once Was

  White walls. White walls were all Y/N saw being rolled down the hospital's hallways. Her summer, and even her life will be changed forever. The months of isolation are approaching, but it's all worth it.

"So, you're really going through it dear?" Hanako said, walking aside her bed, a look of worry on her face.
"Don't worry," Y/N smiled, "I'll be strong. Not only for you, but for my team as well. They can't see me for a few months, so what's the point in being separated from the people I love if I can't see them in the end of this?"
Hanako had tears falling out of her eyes, smiling a broken smile, as if something was going to happen, affecting the outcome.
"You're strong, and you're a fighter. You'll survive this, and I'll be here every step of the way," Hanako placed her forehead on hers, "I'll never let go."


Mamoru Watari. The savior of the H/C haired teen. He was the only match, and only person willing to go through as Y/N's donor.
"Y/N, there is someone I'd like you to meet," the tall, dark haired man walked through the door, "This is Mamoru Watari, your donor for this treatment," the doctor explained.
Y/N's E/C eyes widened as the man walked into her presence. She felt a blush come upon her S/C cheeks.
'He's not on bad on the eyes....' Y/N said to herself.
"It's nice to meet you Mr. Watari. I am, and will be forever in your debt for you doing this. Thank you so much."
"No need to thank me. Hanako told me about your story, and I've seen several stories about you. Just promise me one thing....Win"
Y/N's E/C eyes furrowed in confusion, "Win?"
"You know what I mean. Win this fight, and win every race you have after this. You have a talent, no...A Gift."
"T-Thank you! No matter what, I will win. The Olympics is only a swim away, and I will win, and I will fight."
Mamoru smiled at the teen, and looked at Hanako, signifying that the treatment is about to begin.

~A few days after Conditioning Treatment ( also known as bone marrow preparation)~

The day has finally come, the day that Y/N the cells will finally be infused into the body of the young teen. Y/N felt no pain, and just sat there, thinking about many images in her head.
'This is the time of my life...the time for a second chance.'
"Y/N-Chan, suck on this, it'll help with the taste." Hanako explained, handing you a F/Candy piece.
Y/N gladly took the candy, and it helped with the garlic taste in her mouth.
"The smell is really weird," Y/N laughed, as her body radiated the smell of garlic (yes this actually happens. I looked it up). Hanako placed sliced oranges in the room, helping with the smell.

~A few days later~

The smell that once radiated off of the girl's body finally went away.
"Y/N," Hanako said, smiling as she walked through the door, "I have been informed by the doctor that you will be released in 4-6 weeks, and shall be able to swim again in 3 months, but you'll be able to exercise within the span of at least 5 weeks."
Y/N's S/C face brightened up, hearing that she'll be better before the swim season was music to her ears.
"Now, I am setting up your house so it is properly prepared for your return. Soon enough you'll be able to see your friends again!" Hanako exclaimed, hugging the small teen.
Y/N yawned, and laid back down, Hanako tucked her in and let the teen rest. The next few days will be an emotional roller coaster, but all will be worth it in the end. The Olympic scouts are just a swim away.
'Just a few more months....and I'll be me again. The me I never knew I could ever be, or even have. Look out boys, Y/N is coming back!....Holy crap I'm a third year..."
Y/N soon fell asleep, clutching the binder filled with pictures, and memories of her team, and her many new friends from the hospital.
'Thank you all,' was the last thing she thought before drifting to sleep.
